Would you be annoyed? Babysitter related

We hired a babysitter to come to our house on mondays starting in September when I go back to work. When we hired her 2 months ago we discussed her coming at the end of August for a half day or 2 to watch the babies so she didn't have to do a full day the first time she came.

2 weeks ago I emailed her dates that I had to work 1/2 days and asked her which day worked best for her ( my family is doing the rest). She picked one , I set up the other days with the family. A week later she asked to change. Fine, no big deal I asked my brother to switch days he was fine with it.

We also wanted to set up another day for her to come for an hour or 2 with me here so I could show her around the house etc. She picked the day and the time. Tomorrow at 10 am which I said was perfect because she could be here and while I put them down for a nap.

She just emailed me and asked if I wouldn't mind changing the time bc last minute she was able to get a dr appt (she is not sick).

I don't have plans so it is not a huge deal but I am annoyed and feel like we are getting off to a bad start.

Would you be annoyed?? and how would you handle it?

TBH I would be a little nervous she may flake out on you a lot. Sorry

I can see how you would start to feel annoyed. This is the second time she is changing things and she hasn't even started yet. I don't have any advice on how to handle it, but I think I would feel the same way.

I would be a little nervous, but at the same time if the way you presented the august dates were flexible and her choice she may see if as no big deal to switch dates. When she comes i would say something like its not big deal to switch dates last minute in august but once september comes she will need to be theree on her set days.

I know I was flexible so I am sure that is why she asked to change but I would NEVER do something like that myself...I feel like it makes her look bad.

I do have my parents as a back up in september so one more strike and she is out!! and I will look for someone else.

Like others said, I would be nervous too. It makes me wonder how "serious" she takes the position if she keeps asking to switch. One more time and I'd definitely ax her. I'd also make sure you stress to her that your future set dates are NOT flexible.
