Would you be ok with this?
Would you be ok with ILs taking DC to Disney for the first time without you? Just them and DC...

Re: Would you be ok with this?
I'm pretty laid back and not even a very big disney person, but for some reason I really want to surprise my little one when they are 5 or 6 with a trip to disney. I think it's the commercials, haha. So no, I wouldn't be ok with it.

Re: Would you be ok with this?
How old is DC? I'm thinking since we are in NY, they would be going to FL alone with DC? I don't think I'd allow that unless DC was much older (I flew to FL solo to see grandparents at 6).
But if we lived in FL and the child was young and wouldn't remember, I wouldn't care. DS is 2 and I don't think he'd really appreciate or remember it.

Re: Would you be ok with this?
Generically speaking, yes I think I'd be ok with it. But I'm not really a Disney girl so I don't mind not ever going there.
My ILs don't seem to grasp how serious DS's food allergies are so for that specific reason we don't leave them alone with our kids.

Re: Would you be ok with this?
Nope.
My parents have asked me numerous times to let them take DS to Florida when they visit my grandparents and I have said no every time. It's not even Disney that I would object to, its them taking him out of state without me. The thought makes me too nervous.

absolutely not! SIL wanted to do that. i very firmly said no way! first trip to disney is me, DH, and the kids (hopefully we'll have two by then) if she wnats to take them AFTER we go, that's different i'm not being robbed of any more firsts! (missed DS's first wlak because i was still recovering from the c section)

Re: Would you be ok with this?
no, this is something i looked forward to and talked about with DH since before DS was born. after the first time..maybe...but not for the first time ever! but even after, i dunno how comfortable i am letting someone else be responsible for my son in such a huge park. god forbid he got lost or something

Re: Would you be ok with this?
My parents NEVER took us...so I would be really POed if my parents offered (and they have) LOL. But, it depends on how old. My grandparents took my brother when he was like 12 or 13 and I don't think my parents had a problem with it. By that age, if we haven't gone, I don't think it is an issue!
