Re: WOuld you care if your boy's first two initials were
I also went to high school with a guy that had those initials, and everyone called him BJ as his nickname. It wasn't in reference to THAT, it was just what we called him, same as TJ or CJ. As long as the potential for that happening down the road doesn't bother you, I'd go with it!

I would care, especially today the way kids are such bullies in school.

Yes, we had a potential name for DS that would have given him these initials and I said no to the name because of it.

Re: WOuld you care if your boy's first two initials were
i personally wouldnt do it. kids can be so cruel and yes people dont usually knwo middle names but it only takes one brat to know the initials to start something and then he'd get teased

Re: WOuld you care if your boy's first two initials were
I WOULD STILL use the names even if they started with B and J. If we have a girl, her first two names would be B J as well. (We wouldn't call her BJ though). But even so, if you did call your son "BJ" there is nothing wrong with it. I know of an old friend who has a brother and when he was little, was called "BJ" or "Beej".
IMHO, I think people need to stop associating everything with sex or bad things. There are plenty of people who are called "AJ", "CJ", "DJ", etc... so I need nothing wrong with "BJ".

Re: WOuld you care if your boy's first two initials were
I was the original poster for that. DH came around and if we have a girl we will indeed use BJ for her initials.
We love the names together and that is that.

B.J
We both agreed on a name...for now...that starts with 'B', and the middle name would start with a 'J'.
Am I being ridiculous???
When they do initials in school (usually art projects) they use the first and last name , not the middle. I knew a kid in HS who used the nickname BJ but its not necessary, and likely won't happen if the family/you, his parents don't call him that. if you like then names I say use it! His initials aren't really BJ unless last name starts with J. Does this make sense? Good luck and congrats!
