Would you/Do you give $ to your parents/ILs for their Bdays?
Have you ever given your parents or Inlaws cash as a birthday gift?
MIL's bday is coming and honestly we are all out of ideas. I'm thinking cash is king...

We never give cash. we give gift cards/certificates.

My 90 year old grandmother requests $ for her birthday. Although I find it unusual that she does, I still give it to her. I always wonder what on earth she buys with it.

I think we're giving FIL cash for his bday. We were going to give him a gift but MIL said he doesn't really use the gifts we've gotten him. So then we were going to do a gift card but she said to give him cash cause he may not spend the gift card. I feel weird giving him cash though, so I may drag DH to the store tomorrow night.

I've given them gift cards before, although I usually give regular gifts. I've never given my parents or IL's cash... it would seem strange/impersonal to me to do that, but if that's what they wanted or needed, I would.

I will usually send my mom a check for her birthday, as she does for me and then she is able to get something she wants.
