Are people so vain as to what they drive that they wouldn't take free money?
$500 a month plus free gas is like having a free car paid for you. Plus that woman has an Infiniti SUV. It's not a piece o' junk either.

Hey you are entitled to your opinion and if passing on a sponsorship is out of the question for you then that's fine.
I would rather put the free money towards my family. Maybe towards the kids' college. Or maybe use it to just pay the oil bill which will be insane as it is.

gas is at least $100 a week for her
so she is making close to $1K for doing this
I am on the fence about it- $500 a month doesn't cover the cost of my car and insurace- but it would be nice
I would let them do it to DH car- but he would die

Also the article said she has a logo of her job on there. A job placement firm.
It's not like it's a logo for Viagra or something. 
I happen to like my job and I would have no problem driving "the company truck". Because that is what it would essentially be.

It's not about losing your individuality. In fact doing something like this shows how much MORE of an individual you are.
The woman in the article even said people initially thought she was crazy. That is of course until people realized how much she is really saving with the cost of gas and the increased cost of goods, etc.
She individually made the decision to make a wise financial move and bank some free money every month.
I applaud her!

Because in my opinion I think it's pretty vain to turn away a free company car, to instead deplete the monthly budget and throw it into a depreciating asset. It's one thing to buy a new car to replace an existing car. It's another to turn away a FREE new car just because it is sponsored by a company. I think that's crazy.
Like I said, it's my opinion. You are welcome to ignore it.

I think vain is kind of an accurate word for it...maybe a little strong, but I'm not sure what the word would be.
You would turn down what is essentailly free money soley based on how it would look.

HECK YEAH!!! we each get paid bi-weekly, so out of 4 paychecks total a month, one is entirely spent on gas. so i would do it for the free unlimited gas alone. the other $500 would be a bonus... that would pay my car payment and dh's car insurance each month. where do i sign up?!
