ok here is the thing... You are watching something that SOMEONE edited to show 'you'
for all we know there were 10 out of 100 people in that crowd that were like this...
Just like the Howard Stern thing...
I worked in post production for a living... you can portray people HOWEVER you want with the power of editing... Just by selecting your shots...
I'm not saying that there are people LIKE that, but... I'm sure the creators of this 'film' had no intentions of showing the people who WERE well informed.
on a side note... I can't help but be reminded of some people on THIS website when I watched some of THEM...

True. But the fact that there ARE people that feel this way is scary! I am NOT a McCain supporter, but if he make it into office, I'm not going to threaten to come after him.  People basically threatened Obama in this video.

I'm not a McCain supporter but think there is ignorance abound. Taking quotes from the less enlightened/not well-spoken doesn't diminish the candidate in my eyes.
There are plenty of people on this site that have researched candidates and expressed their opinions intelligently. Not saying I agree with all of their points but it doesn't make McCain any less of a qualified candidate.

I agree with this.
what DOES concern me is the ANGER in these people, something that was missing from the Stern video.
that 21-year-old oil field worker will more than likely have some splaining to the SS to do.
while the ignorance is certainly comparable, I don't think the tone of the people is at all, and THAT is sad and scary.

i don't think anyone is saying that the statements these people are making bear any reflection on McCain and his qualifications - i think it just clearly shows the IGNORANCE and HATRED these people have.

I also wish that people would realize that when they're reading an article that has a quote in it that the person quoted was asked a question and responded. I feel like some people think that candidates, celebrities, etc go around spouting things to anyone who will listen. Yes, they may have said exactly what the quote says they did, but don't disregard the context - it makes a difference!

Yes, I agree, supporters of each candidate are going to make sure only the "ignorant" ones are showcased. I think it's the nature of the beast.
All I can say is "two wrongs don't make a right".
Maybe sometimes it's just best to take the high road.
I'm sure none of the Obama supporters were thrilled to see/hear that Howard Stern piece as I'm sure the McCain supporters are not thrilled to know there are supporters out there like this.
I'm sad to see there are people out there like this period.
I don't give a ratsass who anyone is voting for, to know there's that kind of ignorance in this country in this day and age is just plain sad.
I'm sure we can all agree on that much.
all i can say is hate breeds hate and the people on that video look like they were dug out of the back woods somewhere; where they are so far removed from a "big" city and are just plain ignorant
now dont get me wrong, im not saying that if youre not from a big city you are ignorant
but these people obviously live very sheltered lives

And I'm sure there are scary folks like this on the side of Obama too...

I agree with both of you except to say that to a certain extent the McCain/Palin camp has had a hand in fostering some of this hate & ignorance.
They have used Obama's full name to instill fear because his middle name is Hussein, they have insinuated that he is a terrorist by saying he “palled around with terrorists". So as they say you reap what you sow.
But I do believe these ignorant people don't need too much prodding to spew their hate. And there is ignorance on both sides.

You know what I think? There should be a basic aptitude test and you should need a LICENSE to vote that would have to be renewed for every general election. Just like any moron can have a baby, any idiot can vote but you need to pass a test and get licensed to drive. Something very wrong with that.
I think you should have to pass the citizenship test at the very least to be able to vote!

There are probably lots of US-born citizens who couldn't pass the citizen test! I had to take one here for my UK citizenship and lots of the Brits that I quizzed, including my husband and his family, wouldn't have gotten 100% if they had to sit down and take it without studying!

 It is clear that the intention of the videographer was to depict McCain supporters as dumb and ignorant. This is left-wing propaganda. Many McCain supporters can give you an "edumacated" answer as to why they are voting for McCain. This will circulate the internet and make Republicans look like racist idiots because of the one girl on this video that sounds like an idiot the way she talks about Muslims.

Yes, but I was getting at all people, including US-born citizens having to take the test. If you don't know how the gov't works, you shouldn't have a role in selecting it IMO.
