A video camera from my bridal party. They taped my entire shower (under the ruse that is was one of theirs) and gave it to me when I had finished opening my gifts.

BTW - as for the holiday baskets, just know that some people love them and some people hate them. I wouldn't have really liked to receive that, though I have seen some beautiful ones... and many brides DO love them. Just know your bride, LOL.

my coffee maker I couldnt live w/o it and neither could DH.
Other than that- i love serving pieces and platters. You cant get enough of those things.

Someone got us a basket that had all CHristmas stuff in it....a Christmas sign, wreath, ornaments. It was a really great idea and we still take all that stuff out at Christmas.
I have also seen the Honeymoon basket idea where you get the couple flip flops that say "just married" and towels and GC to restaurants at the places they are going to.
And at another I saw a whole poem with all cleaning supplies put inside a laundry basket. It went over really well!

A friend of mine made a baking basket filled with recipes, mixes, frostings, bakeware, apron & mitts, and a cute poem that details a cake for all our firsts (first married birthday together, first christmas, first valentine's) It was really cute and thoughtful.
On the same vibe a friend of mine was getting married and they are both avid wine drinkers. I took the same concept and made a basket full of wines. I wrote cute poems for each wine (first birthday, first anny, first thanksgiving, etc) and an apple cider for first baby. It was a huge hit at her shower.

My younger cousins (who were also my bridesmaids) put together this huge gift basket with all cupcake related items in it - pretty much anything you could find that had to do with the baking or serving of cupcakes and items with cupcake images on them. I love cupcakes and were having them as my wedding cake.
Next to my kitchen aide mixer, this was my absolute favorite gift!!!
I once gave a Disney-themed shower gift since the couple was going there for their honeymoon. I gave them Disney dollars, a Fromer's Disney guide, and had the stateroom on their Disney cruise decorated in a wedding theme complete with a gift basket.

Does the couple have any hobbies? My DH and I are boaters so one of our favorite gifts was this awesome bag for the boat with our name embroidered on it and it had stuff we could use on our boat.
I also loved our HM gift which was a beach bag with towels, flip flops, sunblock, etc. and a list of excursions that we could pick 3 that would be paid for.

I am not super religious, but my bridesmaid gave me a Family Bible. You can write your family history in it, and pass it down to your children.
I also received a handheld automatic can open that I tell DH I love every time I use it. Wasn't on my registry, but it is such a space saver!

A laundry basket full of everyday stuff. Detergent, soap home decor, candles, etc. It was really very useful, I am still using stuff from it today two years later!
