WWYD? Baby Shower related
My mom asked me if I want a baby shower. And I don't know what to tell her. She said she will either throw me a shower or spend the money she would spend on a shower on baby stuff anyway so I will get all my baby things. She also asked if I do decide I want the shower if I want to know about it or not. I told her it really doesnt make a difference. My bridal shower was a surprise so this doesnt have to be.
WWYD? Go through the shower planning with your mom or just pass it up and go shopping with her for all the baby stuff?

honestly, i am dreading my baby shower  . i hated having a bridal shower. but it makes my mom so happy to throw one and--with all honesty--it's really nice to get gifts and see friends/family! i say it all depends on if you like having a shower or not. it sounds like your mom is going out of her way doing a great job to make sure you don't feel pressured one way or the other! i wish my mom did that .

awww I would say have a shower b/c I would worry you'd regret it later! I just keep thinking that this is my last shower EVER! crazy thought!

showers are so boring..but ya gotta do it..have a shower...people want to see you with your belly that you dont see often and they want to shower you with gifts..

Hmmm, tough one. You have to ask yourself, if you don't have a shower are you going to look back one day and regret it? If so, then go for it. If not, if it really doesn't matter to you one way or the other, than skip it and have fun shopping with your mom!!

My shower was so much fun! It's so nice to see all your favorite women in one place, and baby stuff is all so cute! Definitely have the shower!

I would def do the shower but I like to have all my friends around and plan to make it fun!! but it's really up to you. . for me it's less about getting things than having a chance to celebrate with people close to me. . even if there are no drinks

I would say it all depends on whether you like being the center of attention and how close you are with your female friends and relatives. For me this would be a tough one since idk how comfortable I would feel around a bunch of my female relatives, we're not really close... So I'd have to really think about an offer like this as well. But if you have a lot or a few but important ppl in your life you would want to share this with and who would be happy for you and want to shower you with gifts I'd say have the shower and enjoy the good company!

I'd definitely go with the shower. Either way it looks like you will be getting plenty of baby stuff - but a shower would be a lasting memory and then you also might get cute surprises from people of things you didn't even realize you wanted or needed.
I already told my mom that I want to know about my shower although I will try to limit my involvement in the planning.

i didnt want a shower but my mom insisted on giving me one ... she now says the amount of money she spent on it she could have just bought all the stuff for me  i think it is up to you if you really dont want one skip it!

I didn't get to have a real bridal shower, so this is a complete once-in-a-lifetime experience for me and I am looking forward to it more than anything! Since I live 500 miles from my mom and 700+ miles from my aunts and cousins, this will be such an amazing opportunity for everyone to come see our new home and our life here in NC. Plus meet friends they otherwise would never get to know.
So for me, it's going to be a huge celebration with the people I love that I don't get to see. You can see why this is such a big deal to me!
You have to decide what makes sense for you and what you will enjoy. We're doing it at our new home and of course I helped planned the date. Three friends are doing the details, but I've been able to contribute to the planning.
You may be able to have a less expensive sort of gathering that's more casual that you'll enjoy a lot. Maybe make it less about what presents you'll get and more about the celebration itself, then you'll feel like it's less of a business proposition than it may seem right now.
