WWYD? Fever
I took DS to the ped on Sunday because he had a fever (102) and he had very bad hives. Dr. said it was a virus and to give benadryl and tylenol and call if hives were on his face or fever got very high.
So, every day this week he has had a low fever (100-101) and every afternoon/evening he gets some hives. Today, he woke up with 102.8 and no hives.
Should I bring him back to the dr? I don't know why I always second guess myself
ETA: he woke up from his nap with 103.6, so we went to the ped. She still thinks it is viral, but did a throat culture just to be sure b/c I had strep 2 weeks ago. Also, she did a CBC to totally rule out any infection. My poor little guy is so out of it - with motrin he is down to 101 and he finally fell asleep.

Re: WWYD? Fever
I would call and leave a message...say you're not sure what to do...the fever got higher, but no hives

Thanks! Thats what I was going to do -- and then I listened to everyone else. My Mom said to bring him to the dr, my DH said to wait and see what happens.....why do I listen to them and not just go with what I think!?!?!?

Same here! I used to do that all the time. It just is reassuring if nothing else!

Re: WWYD? Fever
I hope he feels better. And don't worry, we all doubt ourselves, and then get mad because we did doubt ourselves...its human nature I hope he feels better, and his fever goes down...do you think he could possibly have roseola (this will show up after the fever breaks) or maybe coxsackie?---these are the only times that my sons fever went high

Re: WWYD? Fever
Thanks! i dont think it is coxsackie because the dr. said that his mouth/throat looked OK. I guess I'll know more tomorrow after the bloodwork comes back.
