I agree with all the pp's - it's your child - do what you want - your parents already had their turn and they need to suck it up and keep their rude comments to themselves (and btw, your names are lovely). But I totally get that you can't help that it's making you second guess your choices - this is why I refused to share our contenders with my MIL - before I even got pregnant, she "ruined" several names for me (they weren't viable because DH hated them, but still - I learned my lesson not to share). Now I'm having fun with her because she asked if we had a name picked out and we said yes and it's driving her nuts that we won't share payback's a b*tch.

It would bother me if my mom or dad hated the name we chose.

With DD EVERYONE loves her name so it's not an issue.

I think with this one it will be harder.

My mom put my sister and I through hell trying to get us to use "family" names. We both said you had 3 chances to use those names, not our problem.

I would use what you love, once they see their grandchild it really won't matter if her name was princess jellybean.

Agree-they already had their chance choosing names! Use it, I think they are both beautiful!

My mom disliked my daughter Peyton's name so much. She said I just can't get past Peyton Place. I said mom that's soooo old school.

Interestingly enough, she loves my daughter's name now. I think parents just feel like they need to add their 2 cents just to annoy us.

Go w/what you like.

If it was a very odd name, and they didn't like it, it would make me step back and rethink, but at the end of the day, if I liked it and thought DD would too, I would go with it. What matters most to me is that DD likes her name, but that's hard to predict :)

I don't think my parents really like the name I have picked out for DD#2. But we still liked it, and lots of other people do also, so we are sticking with it.

I think the names you are thinking of are beautiful.

I would not let anyone elses opinions decide what YOU name YOUR child.

For me personally, finding out that someone hated the name would make me WANT to use it even more

Seriously though, this is why I always say that you should never share your babies name until after he or she is born.
