Re: WWYD? leave 2 month old with mom for weekend?
Go for it!!! I'm sure your mother would be thrilled! I left my 3 week old son overnight with my sister. I missed him like crazy but it allowed me to sleep in one day. Happy MOM=Happy baby! Enjoy!!!!

I agree that it's about your comfort level. Personally, I couldn't do it. I wasn't able to leave DD overnight until she was 2. At that point she was ASKING to stay at grandma's so I think I was actually doing both of us a favor If you're comfortable, then go & have a good time!

Re: WWYD? leave 2 month old with mom for weekend?
I am doing it in 3 weeks - for 4 nights I am taking DH away for his 30th....
DD is staying with my Mom and Dad - they are beyond elated and can't wait.
I am worried that I will have a bit of seperation anxiety.... but am looking forward to spending quality time with DH.... I know she will be in GREAT hands and they are really looking forward to taking care of her....
good luck in your decision - and if you do choose to go.... don't waiver and enjoy it knowing your baby will be in good and capable hands....

Re: WWYD? leave 2 month old with mom for weekend?
we left BOTH kids (2yo, 12 weeks old)with my inlaws for a weekend to attend dh's best friend's wedding.
honestly, i felt guilty... for about an hour then i enjoyed 2 days away with dh for the first time in over two years...

Re: WWYD? leave 2 month old with mom for weekend?
as others have said, it all depends on your comfort level. For me, I wasn't ready to be away from DD for any amount of time when she was 2 months old. DH and I had tickets for something one night and were going to stay at my IL's with the baby. I had such a panic attack over it (literally) and had a ROTTEN time that night b/c I was so upset over being away from DD even though it was only for 6 hours.
We haven't left her overnight yet, but will be doing it for the first time for our anniversary in a few weeks (she'll be 9 months old). MIL wants to keep her for 2 nights, but I'm not sure I'm ready for 2 nights just yet.

I personally wouldn't leave my child at that age because I was so worried and attached.

I went to vegas for 5 days when DS was 7 months old> I had THE best time . as long as your mom wants to watch the baby GO!! you won't have many chances to go again

I don't find anything wrong with it...it will all depend on you and if you can separate yourself from the baby. I never had a problem with separation for a day or two but some mothers do.
I agree
