WWYD? Re: Sick DS
My DS has been sick since Monday. We went to the Dr. on Tuesday and he thought he had croup (he was barking when he coughed) His cough has since changed and sounds terrible and he has been running a fever since last night- 101.8. I called the service and they aren't in today, but recommended going to the Urgent Care place is Selden. Would you take your DC there or wait till they are in tomorrow? I know nothing about the Urgent Care

I would go to Urgent Care. Your ped said to do it and he developed a new symptom (the fever). If he's still running a fever or still sounds really bad today I would go.

Re: WWYD? Re: Sick DS
I would go to the urgent care- I assume you mean PM Pediatrics. I had my son there a few weeks ago and had a good experience. No wait at all, dr. seemed to know what he was doing. Much better than having to wait in the ER for something relatively minor (DS had an ear infection).
FYI- I just got an explanation of benefits from my insurance co. and they only paid a small part of the bill b/c PM Pediatrics was out of network. Cost of the visit was $300- if they bill me, looks like it will be $200 out of pocket. So you may want to check with your insurance 1st. HTH

Trish- I heard great things about the urgent care place in Selden....from several people. Do you have a nebulizer? Whenever Brian has a cough they tell us to nebulize him...it always helps. Good luck

Re: WWYD? Re: Sick DS
I'd take him! If you are talking about PM Pediatrics, go! You have nothing to worry about. We had to take DS last year on Christmas Day (double ear infection) and we had a GREAT experience (syosset location). I hear the Selden one is great too!
I hope he feels better soon!

Re: WWYD? Re: Sick DS
Thanks girls- I called and it is PM Pediatrics. I gave him motrin and his fever dropped and and hasn't returned yet. He is happy and playful otherwise so I think I am going to see how the rest of the day goes before brining him.
Thanks!
