I would still bring a gift like books or puzzles. I don't think a kid can ever have too many books.

Re: wwyd with and invite that says "please no gifts"
Since the invitation IS for both partys, I would call the person handeling it just to verify... But that's just me. I couldn't imagine going to a 1st bday without a gift either...

Maybe a bond or something like that for the 1st birthday?

Re: wwyd with and invite that says "please no gifts"
I'd bring a card with some scratch off lotto tickets for the 60th and a bond for the 1 year old. They're technically not really gifts and I wouldn't feel right not bringing something. Or make a donation in their names or something like that.

I'd probably buy a gift and mail it.

I like the idea of scratch off in the card for the 60th and a book for the child.

Re: wwyd with and invite that says "please no gifts"
I would not bring a gift. Seeing all of my nephew's play rooms bursting at the seams with toys, I can totally see not wanting gifts. I would consider putting that on an invite because Nolan has plenty of toys and we just do not need any more beyond what immediate family would give. Too much stuff in life. I'd just want to celebrate the day/occassion with friends and family. Your gift would be your time and presence. So this makes sense to me and out of respect, would oblige.
Same thing for the 60th... at this point, what could they need besides good company of friends and family having a good celebration.

Re: wwyd with and invite that says "please no gifts"
I'd probably bring a book and a coloring book for the 1yo. They probably meant no gifts because the kid has a gazillion toys but you can never have too many books and coloring books.
I like the card/lotto ticket idea for the 60yo.
