WWYD with BEdtime
Background: DS was STTN at 8 weeks, then around 12 weeks just stopped - he'd get up 1-2 times a night, everyone said it was teething, but who knows. Now he gets up at least 1 time still or 2 times, I give him a bottle - the pediatrician said to start to dilute it and see if he weans off it, b/c he's not hungry, just wants the soothing. Here's my question. Bedtime was 8:30 - 9:30 depending on him and the last week or so he's only been sleeping 8-9 hours at night. Last night he went to bed around 8pm (we had a long day) and he woke up 2 times (well 3 really) but then just now woke up at 8am - that's 12 hours, although interruppted. Do I try that early bed time again and then dilute his bottles during the night to try and get him to STTN again? Is it better the longer hours but interrupted more for him or the fewer solid hours KWIM? He is 5 months.

Re: WWYD with BEdtime
To me it sounds like he is waking out of habit. I would make sure he is eating enough during the day and try to eliminate the night time feedings. The book that helped me with this was 12 Hours sleep by 12 weeks (which I believe is not called the No Cry Solution). It definitely works if you want to give it a try.

Re: WWYD with BEdtime
Does he take a pacifier? I'd try to wean him off those bottles with a paci if you don't think he needs to eat. I think I'd stick with the 8pm bedtime, maybe even a bit earlier, and see how he does

Re: WWYD with BEdtime
he should be sleeping about 12 hours at night - around 5 months - my son was waking only once so i started shortenign each nursing session till we were down to 2 minutes - then pacifier for 2 nights and he was sleeping through the night by 5.5 months - my son now sleeps fro about 7:30pm-7am - earlier bedtimes get better sleep - need to find your child's magic time when they are tired but not over tired
i would definetly reduce the bottle size or dilute - also pacifiers are helpful - my son really did not take one before 4 months but with sleep trainin it was helpful and he weaned himself off of that too
