X-post from parenting Btdt freezing meals before new baby comes
So my third is on her way this friday and withe the recovery and having two kids to have to take care of on top of my newborn I thought it would be smart to cook a big meal or two so that we could have a couple of leftovers
So my question is how is meatloaf from the freezer? Frozen ziti? And how do u defrost these meals? And how do u reheat them? Tia!!!!

meatloaf and ziti both heat up well from the freezer. i usually think to pull it out the day before and let it sit on teh counter for a little bit and then keep it in the fridge into the next day.
chili also heats up amazing well (i think even BETTER tasting than the first go round)
lots of different things you can do for freezer meals.
this looks nomnom

Soups, chili and strew freeze great! So does eggplant parm, stuffed shells, lasagna, meatballs etc (mostly all Italian food - yum!) You just prepare your dish (i.e. lasagna but dont bake it, put it right in the freezer)
Then you can pop it right in the oven and bake it longer than normal - usually 90 min as opposed to 45-60 min when it is freshly made. Or you can thaw a bit.
Soups you can defrost on the counter and heat in a pot!
