If you spell out what you believe Trump to be racist on, I will then reply. Because I am not of the belief Trump has racist views (he has views but many of them have simply been twisted to be racist IMO).
Maybe you can make an argument for him not being blatantly, overtly racist. But you can't overlook the fact that his supporters have taken his words to justify acts of hate and violence against others.
This is worth a look: Day 1 in Trump's America

I watched the video too. The arm motions he was doing is something he has done in many of his speeches when he has been speaking about different people. The disabled reporter in question doesnt even have that particular mannerism (from the videos I saw). But someone took a freeze frame of a particular moment and put it next to a still picture of the reporter showing his disabled arm, and that is the only thing that the majority of people saw.
I thought the same thing. He was just flailing around to show someone who was backpedaling and confused. And yes, I saw the entire video. As someone with my own "handicap", I don't need anyone to tell me what I feel is wrong regarding the video I watched of him. I don't see it as a big deal, I have a right to my opinion. Anyone can get offended about any single thing and people find every reason to get offended these days it seems.
Well, I can certainly tell you that his actions have offended MANY. Especially those of us with children that have special needs, and DO hand flap like that.
But again, you are a DT supporter, I fully expect you to excuse his actions.
Completely agree BargainMama. I'm just sitting here dumbfounded.
How flucking dare you brush it off as something less than it is. I am sitting here with my daughter, my 14 month old daughter who has a brain injury and likely will be diagnosed with cerebral palsy who is making those very same hand gestures, mouth movements, and arm flailing that that orange piece of shit mocked. Sit the hell down. I'm done with your excuses for that asswipe.

Ok listen this is all so of of control. There was an election, he won. He won the electoral vote, fair and square. Alone- the back and forth, the FB banter, LIF threads are out of control. And now- RIOTS and media reports that California wants to go on its own. Come on America! This is out of control. He won fair and square. That's democracy. We all have the right to vote and there is a winner. Not for anything I did NOT want Obama as president, nor did many republicans. Did you see riots??? Did Texas say they want to break away from the US??? Go back and search LIF, were the liberals attacked the way the conservatives are being attacked now. GET OVER IT. He won! Let's move on for the better of our country!
And For what's it worth- HRC was no mother Theresa.
People with all the privileges keep saying
"It'll be OK! " "It is what it is now! " "Oh well, better luck in 4 years" "*joke about moving to Canada*" "He's our president now it's time to accept it"
All my friends without those same privileges :
"Will my marriage stay legal? " "Are we safe?" "What's going to happen to my Healthcare? " "Are we safe?" "Will my trans child be safe at school? " "Will this increase the militarization of the police in my predominantly black community? " "Are we safe? " "Will Roe vs Wade be overturned? " "Am I safe?"
If you tell people to accept this and move on - your privilege is showing.

Nope, not brushing it off as less than it is. You are 100% wrong and here is proof, and I created a new thread on it with the full article and other videos and backstory. You could not be more wrong and more misinformed.
Here is Trump doing the same exact thing, voice and hand motions, while speaking as Ted Cruz.
Everyone wants to TWIST everything he says to crucify him just because they don't agree with his policies. Sick of it.

Re: Yes, the people HAVE spoken
In addition, the reporter did NOT have spastic movements, nor does he have CP. His joints are frozen solid and he speaks clearer than you or me. So as my articles state, if Trump imitated the reporter in such a manner, he would have done a horrible job and would have gotten it wrong. He would not be flailing around. That shows a person flustered, vs this reporter's mannerisms. The voice and the movements are not this guy's at all, nor were they Ted Cruz's. Trump is simply imitating someone backpedaling and flustered.

So bc Donald did a BAD JOB at accurately imitating the reporter's disability, you excuse his sh!tty behavior??! You guys astonish me! And you have the nerve to say that to an LIF mother who has a disabled BABY? Pathetic! How low are you to condone this inhumane treatment of people? Looks like KlingKlang was right after all.

huh? There was nothing to copy. This man spoke like a regular person and stood still (like regular people). huh? And I have a physical disability too (look back to my post earlier in the thread), so go stuff it.

Nasty like what? Not agreeing what Trump did was mocking a disabled person? FTR, I have a disability as WELL as my child has a neurological disability (yup, it's true, go search my posts in the past). And I stated in this case I do not think what Trump did was mocking a disabled person, even despite my disability and my child's neurological disability (which I didn't see the need to get into but will say since it's being thrown at me that the person who is replying to my thoughts has a child with a disability). Yes, I have a child with neurological special needs too for that matter. My child recieves services in school as well as sees a neurologist.
So NOW am I allowed to have my own personal feelings on Trump's actions? You make no sense with this statement and are looking to make something of nothing.

So NOW am I allowed to have my own personal feelings on Trump's actions? :roll eyes: You make no sense with this statement and are looking to make something of nothing.
Just because YOU do not take offense to it, does not mean ALL people with a disability or parents of a child with a disability don't. You don't have the right to tell us we cannot be offended by something like this because some biased website tells you so.

Exactly, there are no excuses for him. This is the second time that someone has used this against you on these boards. It's sickening.
Who used what against her?
I should rephrase that. I mean this is the second time that someone has said something nasty like this.
Nasty like what? Not agreeing what Trump did was mocking a disabled person? FTR, I have a disability as WELL as my child has a neurological disability that is classified as special needs and receives services for (yup, it's true, go search my posts in the past). And I stated in this case I do not think what Trump did was mocking a disabled person, even despite my disability and my child's neurological disability (which I didn't see the need to get into but will say since it's being thrown at me that the person who is replying to my thoughts has a child with a disability). And as I said above, no one should tell me what I should be offended by. I am not offended by the "disability" mocking nor am I offended by a lot of the things he has said or done that others have taken offense to. That's how he won. Apparently not everyone in the US will be sensitive to the same issues that others have an issue with. But he is the president now and that's the bottom line. He won fair and square and all the protests, riots, etc, won't change a thing.

It makes perfect sense. But with your 100 posts, you just don't know the background.
You may not have been offended by Cheeto Mussolini's actions, but others are. There was another poster who did something similar.
Bottom line-- have some empathy. It isn't just about you.

Perhaps he should issue a statement denouncing all of the hateful acts against POC, non-Christians, women, and the LGBTQ community that are being committed in his name. Until then, you can't expect people to keep quiet.

I'm sorry I am not on here every single day posting my entire life story, that does not invalidate my history or life. And not sure what you mean by Obvious edit? I did edit my post to reflect what I wanted to say in the best way, if that's what you refer to.

Obvious edit means that the post was super long and difficult to read on the screen. It's obvious that it is shorter now.
No one is saying that you need to post every single day. It's just that, perhaps, you are missing a lot of back story.

Re: Yes, the people HAVE spoken
I haven't read the whole thread because I can't stomach it.
But just because "the people" (loosely, because she won the popular vote) are for something doesn't make it right. The "people" were also for slavery, and elected Hitler, etc etc.
I'm not even going to go into the THOUSANDS of reports of actual physical attacks and hateful verbal attacks being reported by women and minorities in the last 48 hours, by people who are OUT LOUD saying "Trump is president, now I can do xyz" and pulling off women's hijabs, calling black people the N word. A friend of mine, someone I know, was verbally attacked while with her baby and calling an effing C-U-N-T by a man because she had a Clinton sticker on her car. He chased her down and pulled up next to her at a red light and started screaming obscenities at her.
But let's put that aside. Like I said on FB - the KKK endorsed this man and has celebrated his election. And I'd like to invite the Trump supporters to come look into the eyes of my two Jewish children and explain that you support a man who is endorsed and celebrated by a group of people who want my children dead. A group of people who would gladly deny my children any and all rights. A group of people who have and will call them antisemitic slurs, deny the Holocaust their great grandparents survived, and worse.
My family back home is actively working to convince my husband and I to move back to Canada. My brother, who is the smartest person I know (if you want his credentials I can give them to you) has likened Trump's rise to power to Hitler's, and warned me not to ignore the signs and believe that I'm safe as a Jew here.
So yeah. Let's have ths conversation.

Where did this come from? The post above yours? It's not sick. Or are you just going to say "move on"?
