I also wake DH when I hear stuff. He doesnt like it but he gets up, grabs a shoe or an umbrella or something and goes to check and grumbles as he walks back up stairs and goes back to sleep.

My DH has a gun--so i expect him to grab it and inspect said noise.

DH and i both have guns, but mine is the only one in the bedroom, so i'd have to be the one to go investigate! but i know DH - he wouldn't let me, he'd go alone.
