Yes, its an open forum, Yes, you can say what you want!
I read your post and my mouth was Literally like !
If you don't want a baby, then I am sorry but CVS does sell protection!
It hurts me so much when I see on the news that "A baby was found in a bag in the water or a dumpster'..Just an example.
I am not saying you would do that, but, if you dont want a baby then why didnt you PROTECT yourself? I don't get it!
And,,,its going to ruin your TRIP? I think that statement right there is a bit selfish!
So many of us would do anything for a baby right now and you are worried about a trip.
If you do get a BFP, I hope everything works out for you and I hope that you dont get
p i s s e d that your trip may have to go "on the back burner" for a bit!
If you aren't pregnant, then please, next month USE PROTECTION!

There are many women who are DYING to have a baby, and CANNOT, and you are treating this like the most horrible thing that could possibly happen to you because you have a vacation booked? I am totally pro-choice, but you have made me sick to my stomach.

I also dont get it why would you chance that pull out and pray I mean if you are Not ready to TTC and ready to be a mother yet why take that chance! i would not take that chance because 99% can you can get pg But if you lucky you wont.if you are not ready to be a mother yet why wouldn't you take that extra precaution and use a Condom . I hope you do go on your trip but again if you are pg you are going to have to put Europe on the backburner and put the baby firs!t a baby's life is more important than a trip you can alway's do that another time. But if you are not pg I agree again Use Protection Condoms they sell them in cvs or walgreens. trojens are the best !

I heard if you douche with bleach that might help. In the meantime, I'd remain celibate until Europe if your only method of birth control relies on prayer. Being PG would totally ruin the trip of a lifetime, and think of all the future trips with a baby--that would just s*ck.

Ok so you don't want a baby right now. That's allowed...despite what it might sound like by some of these posts. I'm a little surprised by the reactions you are getting...because I'm sure many women on here have had a moment or two of irresponsibility when it comes to BC. Granted, you've had more than a moment or two, but this one seems to be the one you are concerned about. I can understand if it's because of the wording of your post.
Anyway, that's all in the past. You might want to consider emergency contraception (morning after pill) if you are that sure you don't want to be pregnant right now. Or, consider the possibility that if THIS time you are PG after years of pull-and-pray, maybe it's just meant to be. And for NEXT time, if you turn out to not be pg this time, consider a true form of birth control, or else, consider yourself TTC.

I think many of us just found it tacky, odd, and very insenstive, which was the point that many of the ladies have already made.

Jumping no disgusted yes...NO ONE did that. I just think her supposed english barrier as she says is BS She has been here 6 years and she knows... pull pray... last nights nasty ....Come on. You wanted advice you got it ..your behavior is irresponsible and childish and to be honest I don't know how you are going to go back packing through Europe with your level of maturity .... oh maybe hitchhike and pray ???? Thank you for sticking up for me. I agree that I have been irresponsible with birth control methods- yes. But everyone makes mistakes.
I didn't want to get attacked.
My English has gotten much better in 6 years that Ive been here. I think what i was trying to say was that even though I do know words and american expressions now- i sometimes don't know how to word things- how to phrase right. Maybe thats why my original post came over as rude or 'tacky' as you say.
Anyway-i didn't want to cause any trouble on the boards. Sorry if i did.

Guys, there is no reason to attack her. She asked a question. This is an open forum and she is entitled to ask any question she wants.
Hopefull we can all be open minded enough to realize that we are all in different stages of our lives and respect that there are some women out there who don't want to get pregnant. There are plans that people have (career, vacation, family, etc...) that a pregnancy would certainly prevent someone from doing. An unplanned pregnancy can definitely lead to some disappointments. Hell- so can a planned pregnancy. You know the expression- the best way to make G-d laugh is to plan.... DH and I put off trying for a baby until we were ready- and we had some travel plans that we wanted to do without me being pregnant. We are very blessed because everything worked out for us.
But for the original poster- If you are really concerned, in the future you can use condoms, spermicide, foam or gelly. As for last night, if you medically can, get to your ob-gyn right away to get the morning after pill.
