You would not believe what we saw at Roosevelt Mall today.
We were meandering and suddenly the woman a few steps ahead calls out "Is this anyone's baby?" Nobody knows who this little one year old new walking toddler belongs to!!! She must have wandered out of a store! The woman scoops her up and brings her into a store to see if her mother is in there.

The woman must have seen the baby come out of a store so after asking everyone, she went into the store with the baby. We presume she found the mother because she was in there for awhile and we never heard any announcements about a lost baby.
I don't have kids but I see how many times, it only takes a second of not looking.

Unless the child is being held, it should have been in a stroller or attached to the parent by some sort of device. Frankly, I don't care what the general public thinks of "leashes" but if it kept my child safe, that is all that matters.

I always hate it when I see the kids walking 10 feet or so BEHIND the parents. And the parents don't even seem concerned. I always look to see where the parents are.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Children should be in a stroller or attached to your hand! No need for them to be walking on their own in a busy place!

wow- my mom was in macy's once and there was a little girl - about five years old and all she spoke was FRENCH! her parents were god knows where and she began to panic, not being able to communicate or understand anyone - so, she started to cry and my mom found security who were trying to find SOMEONE who spoke french - eventually, they took her to their offices where you can go to claim lost items and lost CHILDREN  and she was reunited with her very overwhelmed, lost, worried, upset, tourist visiting from france parents!

This makes me nuts. They just assume that baby is still going to be there while they walk and chat on their cell phone.
