Increasing protein
How can I do this? I know I don't eat enough of it to begin with. I'd like to eat it at every meal, but I'm not sure what I should eat...besides meat and tuna. Any suggestions?

Agreed. We are a carb-obsessed nation.

We are, but according to artciles, etc, we gt more than enough protein. The fact is, our portions are just huge! So we get too much of every darn thing.
ETA: The problem is not that we need to necessarily eat more protein, but we need to imprive the ratio of protein:carbs and also whole grains: sugar.

Re: Increasing protein
it depends on what your goals are. to maintain muscle mass or increase muscle, you need 1-1.3 grams of protein per pound of body weight.
if you don't care about that, then you eat less.

Re: Increasing protein
I love walnuts. I don't eat meat really, so they really are my lifesaver. Plus cheese, PB, eggs, soybeans/tofu.

Can you give me an example of what you eat in a day?
today I had...
5 almonds
25 grams of whey protein powder low fat granola with skim milk 1 egg coffee- black
natural peanut butter and a small apple
one grilled chicken breast 2 servings of string beans with almonds
one peice of chocolate (easter candy at work)
Fat Free greek yogurt
grilled chicken breasts with veggies when I get home.
I add more protein after I work out at the gym. I eat between 110 and 135 grams of protein per day.
