Re: Mommy Confessions....
Oh, I totally have more and I've LOVED reading all yours!
I confess that I told my mom I need her to watch Ava Tuesday afternoons every week of this school year because I have meetings, but actually, I don't! I just need the alone time!
I confess that when we are in the store, which is often, I will feed Ava however much she wants of whatever she wants if it means she'll be good and I can shop all I want One time she ate three 100 Calorie packs of Lorna Doones in like 15 minutes
I confess that I use not being able to find a babysitter to get out of having to do things I don't want to do with my husband. For example, I was supposed to get a babysitter for tomorrow night because he has tickets to a hockey game for us. I never even asked anyone because I knew I didn't want to go. So he gave them away

Re: Mommy Confessions....
Wow - I really think this is an excellent thread. It really normalizes everyone and puts us all on the same level. We all strive to be the best moms to our darling children but at the same time, we are still human and do human things out of love.
With that siaid:
I will confess that there have been several nights when DH and I are both exhausted and DD refuses to sleep that we have put her in the middle of our bed inorder for all 3 of us to have a full night rest. * The bad thing about that is that I am a Certified CPS worker and I preach to my clients over and over abt the dangers of sleeping with your baby in an adult bed
I confess that I am so ready to stop BF and I have no guilt about it. At almost 6 months, I pray most days for DD to push the breast away and grab a bottle of formula.
I confess that I dont read to DD as often as I should.
I confess that although I would love to be a SAHM, apart of me is looking forward to starting work next week.
Okay, thats all for now.

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I confess to being harsh with DD when she hasn't wanted to nurse recently (she is eight months and wants to explore everything) and firmly holding her body to my breast until she wails
I confess to putting DD in her crib and walking away when I was frustrated
I confess to having spent more time buying clothes for DD than I spent with her when she was first born.
I confess to wanting to wean her so I can wear a real bra and a dress again.
I confess to turning my back when she was on the changing table and barely catching her as she flipped off.

Re: Mommy Confessions....
Such a great thread..
I confess the following:
-I stopped using the cart cover around 10 months because he still managed to find part of the cart and suck on it
-He has his chocolate milk every morning while watching noggin so I can come on here
-DD is only 3.5 months and sometimes I already want to stop nursing and give her formula so she sleeps through the night but then I realize that would mean cleaning bottles again, and I hate cleaning bottles
-I get frustrated sometimes that DD wants to held a lot at night but then feel bad when I put her in the bouncy durning day and she is content
-The minute I put DS in the stroller where ever we are he immediately says "Cookie" and I give him them to him. It's the only way I get some peace while we are out. Then I think to myself that it's ok because they are animal crackers and their is only so many grams of sugar in 25 cookies
-When DS is having a cranky day and throwing alot of trantrums it makes me wish he was in daycare so someone else would be dealing with this
-I confess that I never want them to grow up and I want them to need me for ever

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I could almost say all of the above.
I confess that I lock myself in the bathroom with my People magazine so I can get some peace & quiet.
I confess that my kids watch WAY to much tv. (Curious George alone is watched 3 times a day)
I confess that for the most part my daughters only eat 2 meals a day. (lunch get lost between naps & picking up Patrick) I do give them snacks.
I confess that I stopped yelling at my husband for giving the girls M&M's and buy them for them.
I yell.
I confess that as soon as hubby comes home I feel I should be off the clock

- I put a boob in his mouth if he does not stop crying in the evening. I use my boob as a pacifier to put him to sleep.
I do this ALL of the time. That is why BFing is great, especially with a baby that won't take a real pacifier.

That's actually why I stopped. I had a girls tripplanned to AC and didn't want to have to worry about pumping, so I wened him off for the month leading up to the trip. And I did occasionally drink when I was BFing. It would be amybe one glass of wine, but it helped me keep my sanity.

I have more. LOL
I confess I "prop" the bottle when I need to and especially in the store with whatever is available ( wallet, box etc.)
I have put on him incredibly uncomfortable clothing just because " it looks cute"

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I love this thread!
I confess I have never given Kerri vitamins...I get them and have never remembered to give them to her!
I let her sleep with poopy diapers
She watches more TV than I always thought I would allow
She is stuck on eating the same few things and when I get home from work exhausted I often give in and let her eat what she wants

I confess -
I enjoy reading all of your confessions. It makes me feel more human and like I might not be the terrible mom I think I am when I reuse a clean diaper, or use the TV as a babysitter...
Thanks ladies!
I agree 100%. Honestly, reading allof this is exactly what I needed today. I just realized that I'm not so terrible. Thanks for cheering me up ladies!
I confess-
I am terrible about brushing DDs teeth sometimes.
I let DD watch Dora in my room so I can take a little nap in the morning.
I yell a little more than I'd like

I confess that we originally said that DD would watch no more than an hour of TV a day (1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night) and that has gone by the way side
I confess that I have more days that I feel like I am not a good mother, wife than I have days that I feel like I am
I am guilty of these as well
I too am guilty of both of those.

I confess that:
I don't care if Ava comes in contact with germs. I don't put a shopping cart cover on and I don't always put a placemat down in a retaurant. Of course, if it looks nasty I do, but for the most part, I don't worry about germs. I think they help our immune systems get stronger.
I forget to give Ava her vitamins like 3 days a week.
I gave Ava tylenol at bedtime every, single night for two weeks when her molars were coming in.
I burnt Ava's tongue last week when I gave her oatmeal that was too hot
Ok, the burden of those things has been lifted. Add yours
I never used a shopping cart cover...
I sometimes forget to give DS his vitamins.
When I give him his puffs I eat some of them too...

My turn
- I let DS watch TV (baseball, football with daddy or HGTV). - I put a boob in his mouth if he does not stop crying in the evening. I use my boob as a pacifier to put him to sleep.
OmG I use my boob as a pacifier too when i need to get some darn rest.
Ohhh I used to do that all the time! I miss those days. Life was easier when I was BFing!

Re: Mommy Confessions....
my confessions:
Im a yeller too, but I try to "talk" to them about what just happened.
Im stuck between wanting to work and loving this time with them... so hoping for a happy medium...
Im not the "great Italian mama" that my mom is, cooking fresh meals day in and day out takeout a few times a week makes more sense than spending half my day in the kitchen cooking and cleaning.. (dont show my mom this thread please )
I have a potty mouth and sometimes I have to hold in the laughter when my boys repeat something and I confess that I dont think it's NEARLY as terrible as I would have thought if they werent my kids.
I like that my 3yr old is so "cute" in that he speaks and acts and thinks like a typical 3 yr old. we're enjoying the REAL 3's. My 5 yr old was a little Doogie Howser at 3, (someone at school just called him "The verizon kid" again this week, this is like the 4th time.
I confess that I can see some of these things being held against me in another post one day
