cookie icing recipe?
Anyone have one that isn't excessively sweet?

My mom always made cookie icing from powdered sugar, a bit of milk and a drop of vanilla. I can't tell you amts since we just go by the thickness that you prefer. I guess it is sweet...but I don't personally think it comes out too sweet.

Just used this one a few weeks ago and it was good! I used vanilla instead of almond but I think next time around I might try the almond...

Stupid question? WHat do you ladies use to put the actual icing on the cookies. I used a spoon and it dies not come out so nice

I just made this icing the other day, it is very sweet though.
3 cups powdered sugar
3 Tbl of milk
1 Tsp vanilla
Food coloring

I have a small knife, I think it's a butter knife.

We just hand dip most cookies into the icing that I mentioned above. It is fluid enough to dip in and cover the cookie top.
