Crockpot question-not recipe
Do you or would you leave your crockpot on all day while you are at work?

I've only done it on DH's day off (Friday) where I know he will be in and out all day.
Or over the weekend when I'm home.
I'm working up the confidence to leave it on all day.

When I use to work I would use my crockpot about 2-3x a wk because after comming home from work I would be running around sport to sport with my oldest son therefore dh would never get a meal. I love the crockpot on busy days and yes I would leave it on while I wasn't home.

I use it when I am running in and out. I was nervous to use it while I am at work...but it seems that a handful of people do leave it on.

no way! I know it's supposed to be perfectly safe and even built for that type of use, but I just do not feel comfortable leaving something cooking while I am not home. a lot of ppl say you're not even supposed to leave the dryer on while you're not home.

I definitely leave it on when I am at work.
That's pretty much the point of it and nothing beats coming home to dinner all ready.

No, we don't even have one. When I was engaged I worked with a guy who was Fire Chief for one of the bigger FDs in Suffolk and he told me that the majority of house fires they respond to were kitchen fires started by crock pots. He made me take it off my registry.

I've left it on overnight and I've also left it on when I went to work. It is wonderful. I've made corned beef, pot roast, and Chicken Osso Bucco. I made split pea soup overnight.

I use the crock pot often, but I am usually home.
I would definitely use it even if I wasn't.
I think I read somewhere that it uses the same wattage as a lightbulb. That's why it takes 10 hours to cook something that would normally take 1 hour on the stove.
I think that's the whole point of a crock pot- to "set it and forget it".
