How did you find your current job?

Did the Monster and Hotjob thing for years and they never did anything for me. I am stickly soley to trade magazines these days because I actually receive calls back when I send me resume. However, at this point....I need to look for something a little faster than the ads come in.

I am an admin in the advertising research industry. I am totally willing to get a job in another industry if someone would take a chance on me.

Any ideas? I work in midtown now, I cant work on LI (unreliable and old car).

check out indeed.com! it's a portal and pulls together jobs from all the jobs sites. I saw jobs on there from sites I had never heard of.

I work regularly with this agency and I heard that the previous director left, so I reached out to someone I work with often there and asked her to send my resume to her boss.

Re: How did you find your current job?

I knew the industry I wanted to work in and I went to the sites of the major companies and applied on their sites. This actually led to many interviews within the company for jobs I hadn't even applied for.

As an admin, I've used agencies mostly. Career Blazers is how I got my current job.

I've gotten most of my jobs through agencies.

I actually fell into this job. I went to a staffing agency down here in FL and they sent me to where I am now. I was a temp for 6 months then hired permanently and I had no experience at all.
