How many interviews for one job?
I am going in for a second interview for a position that I am still wary about (it requires a ton of travel which I am okay with as long as the pay was right). The first interview was about 2 hours and I met with three people. I asked every single piece of info I wanted to know (aside from the salary as I always heard that was bad) and they called me back in for a second interview with 2 more people and requested that I sit and observe one of their groups for another hour.
I'm getting a lil concerned as I am now taking off again and again for this crazy interview process when I am not even sure what the pay scale is - how can I broach this subject or be prepared should they ask me to come in a third time?

I went in for three interviews before I was offered my position. They also had me observe the ofice.

Re: How many interviews for one job?
I think it depends on the company. One time I went for 3 interviews for one job I had and the other few I only had one interview. As for the salary question that is usually a big question to just bring up. I would see if they ask you if you have any questions about the position and maybe bring it up that way.

so if they ask if I have any questions about the position during this second interview/observation would it be okay to ask something regarding the anticipated pay range?

Re: How many interviews for one job?
did they ask initially in the job ad what your requirements were? If so, then I'd let it be. That's a really tough subject - I don't think I've ever brought it up myself. Job interviews can be a long, PITA process. If it makes you feel any better, here's what I did for my last job:
1. phone interview with HR 2. writing test 3. phone interview with my crazy boss 4. in-person interview with my crazy boss 5. second in-person interview with my crazy boss b/c she as "unsure" (even though I found out I was the only applicant with the exact experience they were looking for.) 6. Trip to Seattle for a final interview with her boss (I never ended up meeting him, though I did go to Seattle - only interviewed with the VP of HR there.)
The entire process was 2+ months.
On the other hand, I had a job that was after one interview and it was offered to me 2 days later.
For where I am now, I had 2 phone interviews, a writing test and an in-person interview, but it all moved very quickly.
It varies....try not to worry too much, though I know it's hard.
Good luck!!!
