I respect them for being upfront, and committed to their ideals in how they want to practice. That is part of the reason why I chose my pediatrician - yes, his views and his style are much like my own, but he also has very strong convictions and has no problem in telling me when he disagrees with me. I really respect someone who isn't a pushover, who feels strongly about something and is willing to fight about it because they feel that strongly about it.

If splitting vaccinations are that important to a parent, then they know upfront that the should go somewhere else.

ITA- They are professionals and you really do have to listen to what they say to a certain extent. I may be a parent and have my ideas about my child, but I also did not go to medical school.

Re: What do you think about this comment?

I think they were pretty rude. It would be nice if they discussed this with the parents who wanted to discuss it.
one thing i look for in a ped. is the ability to speak with them about any questions i have. Doesn't sound like they want to do that for their patients. I'd prob be searching for a new dr.

And I think the Dr. would be GLAD if people who don't agree leave the practice....that's the point of the notice....they don't want to put their patients at risk, nor themselves.

exactly.

Re: What do you think about this comment?

Well, since parents have the right to choose when their child gets their immunizations, the Dr. can also have his own point of view and procedures. At least no one will be confused about his policy! lol
He would loose me as a patient. You are MY doctor you do as I say in my book!

The sign itself was a little abrasive but I actually think its good they let you know where they stand. Especially if you are a new parent you think you are going in there to advocate for your child and your pediatrician is not going to budge...at least you know up front to look for a new doctor if you have a different point of view for your child.

I thought legally theyhave to split it...im confused.

No, there is no reason for it to be legally done. Its an option available for parents. Usually insurance won't cover it split up...

my insurance covered it being split, but i had to pay a co pay for every visit.

that being said, this is a question that i asked my ped at the first visit (i went into labor b4 i could interview peds). i knew the policy from that day forward. i think that if you interview your ped and they give you that answer, then the sign is not offensive or rude.
