Ovarian Cyst??/

Has anyone here have or had a ovarian cyst that hurt them a lot. I went to the ER for a extremely painful bladder/ kidney infection. And the CAT Scan found a 2.4X 1.9 cm cyst.
Also did you have any other side effects other than pain???

Just pain until it burst. That prompted my PCOS diagnosis.

You'll want to find out if you had a dermoid cyst or a clear cyst. Treatment and implications differ depending on what type of cyst you have.

I had one years ago. Mine started hurting at 9AM in the morning and I was in such extreme pain I can't begin to tell you. It burst at 4PM but the whole day I thought i was dying. After it burst the pain went away immediately. I was sore there for a few weeks afterwards.

My dr did a sonogram to make sure it was gone and it was. Don't recall what type it was.

I never had one again, but during my c-section my doctor found a cyst on my falopian tube that he removed during the c-section. I had no pain with that one.

My body's been making cysts since I was 14. Most were simple cysts that caused pain when they burst. I had a large dermoid cyst removed about 9 years ago that caused me to lose part of an ovary.

The danger with larger cysts (yours is relatively small) is the possibility of twisting and cutting off blood flow to the ovary.

Call you GYN and see what he/she recommends.
