Waving???
Hi all!!! It has been MONTHs since I have posted on LIF, but life has been busy. My DS is 11 months old and still is not waving bye bye. Is this normal? When do kids normally do these things. He has reach all his milestones and even started doing things early like crawling and standing, even walking (he walks while holding on...Cruising) but he still does not get the concept of bye bye. Well, that is not completly true, he does say bye bye when prompted, but no wave. any thoughts?
PS. it took him a long time to clap....not untill about a week ago did he start clapping, is that normal?
TIA!!!!

Re: Waving???
My DS learned to wave bye bye when he was around 10 months I would say, but then he stopped for a looooong time. From about 12 1/2 months until 15 months, he just wouldn't do it. This was not uncommon for him though, when he is learning new things he will often drop something else for a while, and in that time frame he was really trying to master walkng and self feed. Maybe your DS has just been so preoccupied with all the other tasks he has been learning??
Each child moves at their own pace, and its funny because often as soon as you start to worry about them, they will do whatever it was you were concerned about.

Re: Waving???
#1 waved at about 10 months, but didn't clap until 18m or so
#2 didn't wave or clap until 15m or so. He still doesn't really wave (20 m)...but blows kisses, so I guess that's his wave.
