Re: OK... let's do this again! PED related
Based on recommendations from people we know off the boards as well as a few families on here we switched to Pediatric Health Associates in Plainview
We've only been once and they were totally booked that day and we still waited less than 15 mins. They did blood work, urine testing, and hearing tests all in the office and we saw the results before we left. The staff all seemed really nice and competent.

Dr. Zaso on Merrick Ave in East Meadow....love him!
He has another doctor in the office when he is not there, so it's not exaclty a mulitple practice.

They are actually on Old Country Road that's the practice we are leaving.
After 2 years. I am done with them. I tried finding another PED already a while ago but it was not on our insurance.

Not in the location you wanted... but I travel from Massapequa for them...
I highly recommend Dr. Lisa Forgione in RVC. She is in practice with two other women, Dr. Fusco and Dr. Peloso. She came highly recommend by my OB/GYN (he brings his three girls there). She is also the cousin of my husband’s best friend since childhood. I didn’t even know this when she was recommended by my OB. She is a wonderful doctor. She listens, takes time to answer all questions and doesn’t rush you at all. She’s straight to the point, while being compassionate at the same time. She’s great with kids. They are open 6 days a week. Sick appointments only on Saturday. Closed Sunday, but you can call if there is an emergency and one of the doctors will call you back. I make our regular appointments with Dr. Forgione, but if Thomas is sick, we see whoever is there at that time. I love the other two doctors as well. Extremely compassionate and great with kids. They have evening hours, until about 5 or 6. I have never had a problem getting an appointment to be seen same day if Thomas was sick. If I get a call from daycare that Thomas is sick, I can pick him up and bring him right in around 5 – 6 p.m. They don’t have separate waiting rooms, but they take newborns in to an examining room immediately. Their office is on North Village Avenue on the second floor. They have elevator, but if you park in the back lot it is easier to walk up the one flight of steps (just a little bit of a workout when lugging a car seat or toddler!) I travel from Massapequa to RVC for this practice. I highly, highly recommend them. Please let me know if you have any questions! Oh, and they call you back by the end of the work day for a random question and sooner for something more urgent.

We use them and really like them. I have had to wait, but I wait at every drs' office I go to. Whenever DS has been sick, they always get me in, sometimes in a matter of a few minutes! They return their calls promptly and are considerate. (FM me if you want details) There are some dr.s I prefer over other ones, but I really like their office.

Re: OK... let's do this again! Need PED recommendation!
a little further south on newbridge rd. there are 2 practices..
one is dr jassey etc, the other is dr. oppenheimer, marchitelli etc.
both are supposed to be good. we use oppenheimer. multiple doc practices... cant say wait for jassey, but my friend loves him. waits at oppenheimer can be bad, but they have 5 docs and 2 NP's so its a big place. you can pretty much guarantee getting squeezed in any time you need it. they're both considered bellmore. but its not more than 2 miles south of the east meadow border.

Re: OK... let's do this again! Need PED recommendation!
I switched my 3 kids to Dr. Jassey's in Bellmore a year and half ago and I felt like I made one of the best decisions switching to his practice. The doctors are thorough and excellent and take the time to explain things and talk to you. We wait half an hour the most. I like to see either Dr. Jassey or his brother but if they are not available, we see Dr. Schulz, Dr. Emmet, the NP, Dr. Beharry (last year was a trying winter for us so we had to go to the office VERY often) and each doctor/NP is competent, caring and knowledgable. THe doctors make referrals to specialists if needed. They also have my kids come back in 48 hours for a follow-up visit especially if they have wheezing due to their asthma. I had gone to a pediatrician before who didn't really believe in my kids seeing an allergist and made a face when I told him I had my kids seen by one since I have self referral insurance. With Dr. Jassey, he referred me to a wonderful allergist right away. THe office has late hours, is open 7 days a week and you can usually be seen the same day.

ITA!! I take DD there (she's 6 1/2 months old) and am VERY happy with them. I know quite a few families that use all three doctors and hear nothing but good things!

Re: OK... let's do this again! Need PED recommendation!
I read thru all the posts just to see & lo & behold not one recommendation for Pro Kids or Honigman & Levine in Levittown. Honigman we used when we moved here & I did not like him at all. I find him extremely arrogant & condescending. Just because I'm not a doctor doesn't mean I am a moron! KWIM? Then we switched to Pro Kids & I'm not too happy there either. One doctor...Dr. Drucker is horrible-very nasty dispostion & very judgmental & critical. Hello this is my 3rd kid I didn't just fall off the turnip truck. I never wait less than an hour and last time they had to redo her lead test because the nurse said they lost it & then they tried to charge me for the new test. ***? So i am looking for a new one too. My OB recommended someone that she uses in Seaford but I forget the name & a friend at work uses Dr. Grillo i think in east Meadow & she loves him.

We use this practice as well and have been since DD was born. My favorite is Dr. Samuel. I have never had a problem making an appt or them not calling me back and I have never had to wait very long in the waiting room. It's on Manetto Hill Road not too far from Fairway.

I used Levine and Honigman and loved Levine, and felt the same way as you about Honigman. Levine left the practice when DD turned 1 so I left and went to Dr. Zaso and LOVE him!
