OMG!!!
It's one of my worst fears. There's not a day I don't think about it. I am always cornering one while putting the other in the car. I hate, hate, hate the parking lot at daycare. So many kids are allowed to run across the lawn to the parking lot. My DC's know they must, must hold my hand.

First - I'm sure that scared the %&$# out of you !!
when my DD was younger I taught her to "loop" She holds a belt loop on my pants so I know she's not going anywhere. She's 11 now, and if I have my hands full I STILL tell her to "loop" and she still does !!
Sounds like your DS won't be walking away from you again anytime soon though.

That could totally happen to any of us. Ryan is 20 months old, and although he holds hands pretty well, I don't allow him to ever walk in a parking lot because I am petrified he will run off. I know I have to just instill in him the consequences but the thought makes me so nervous.
At least he is ok and nothing happened. None of us are perfect and you are an amazing mommy!

THank GOD! I'm totally tearing up for you. THanks for sharing bc it's posts like this that can prevent things if you know what I mean. I mean it made me think. Santino is not walking yet but I do always put him in the car before hasseling with bags/stroller ect....still ty so much and I'm glad everything is fine
