A couple of questions

Hey girls. I promised I would never use a fake name but I wanted to hold out coming out till my first appt...but I have a couple of questions. So sorry!

Have any of you ever had an ectopic pregnancy?

So I have been having slight aches on my right side...my friend told me she had that early on and it was a cyst (or corpus leutem) on her ovary, and that they are formed when you get pregnant to supply progesterone..

but I also read about ectopic pregnancy and am freaking out! Has anyone experienced this? I have a message into the doctor although I really want to try to wait till that 8 week appt.

Thoughts? Thanks girls!

Re: A couple of questions

At the beginning of my pregnancy I had a lot of cramping the dr. told me its from the egg implanting itself. For the 1st & 2nd trimester you will have cramping. When you should start to worry is when you have severe pain I mean ball over you feel like the world is coming to an end and bleeding you should run to the hospital. What you are having sounds like normal cramping but to make yourself feel better you can call your dr.

Re: A couple of questions

cramping in early pregnancy is totally normal...stop googling or you will drive yourself nuts!

I had a friend that had an ectopic pregnancy and she had no idea she was pregnant. She was in tremendous pain and had to go to the emergency room and that how she found out. If it's just little cramping you're having i'm sure it's fine...but i'm not a doctor and if you are really worried then make that clear to the doc and they will probably have you come in for a sono. But you can't think that every little twing of a feeling is something bad n(easier said then done, I know)...stress is never good for you or the baby.

How many weeks do you think you are?

Thanks girls. I"m 6 weeks tomorrow. I suffered a miscarriage last summer so that's why I'm so scared. Took me 7 months to get preggers so I just worry.

Doc hasn't called me back yet. I am not scared of slight cramping except that it's more to the right side...

but you are right.. doctor google is not good for me!

Same thing happened to me, with both pregnancies. I am sure you are fine but the OB can decide if she wants you to come in for a sono anyway. Chat Icon

Re: A couple of questions

A day after I found out I was pregnant, I had really sharp pains on my side. I was pretty much doubled over and convinced that something was wrong. I think it ended up being part of the normal stretching/growing pains of pregnancy. Chat Icon
