Re: p90x
Ours is a copy. You are right---it is expensive.
You'd need some hand weights (light, medium & heavy-ish), a yoga mat and a pull up bar. I haven't done all of the DVD's yet but that's what I've experienced thus far.
ETA: In reference to your "is it that bad" question---it is intense. Not impossible--but you will never have worked out as hard as you will with this program.

Re: p90x
We bought it off Craigslist 2 weeks ago for $70.
We started the very next day, a Monday, and have been following the program. I definitely feel better, not that I think you can really tell yet. Some dvd's are more difficult with others. But I like the variety, everyday is a different workout. I love the Cardio and Kempo dvd's.
I think its a decent investment

Re: p90x
I got mine as a Christmas gift, but my dad bought them for me from Amazon. You really don't need them new.
ITS AN AWESOMEEEEEEE WORKOUT!!! I can't wait to start it up again!
