Re: Metformin Ladies
I think one of the main side effect that girls have is stomach issues. When I was on it though, I had no side effects. And I was on Metformin, Provera and then Clomid and managed to get through it
Good luck

Re: Metformin Ladies
I didn't feel any side effects untill the third or fourth week when I built up to my complete dose, then I just noticed that my tummy has been a little sensitive. If I eat anything too fatty it seems worse, I've also noticed that my appetite is way less and I'm not craving sugar as much so I guess the good def outweighs the bad!! Good Luck, Feel good!!!

Re: Metformin Ladies
How many mg are you on?
Here's my story.. Originally I was on 1500mg a day and I didn't build up to it, I just started taking it immediately.. and it made me nauseous I spoke to the dr about it and he told me to go down to 750mg and that didn't cause any side effects. I ended up just staying on that dosage.
I take the extended release one and I take it every night right after dinner. I have heard taking it right after lots of food really helps! I have had no issues since lowering the dosage and taking it with a meal!
Oh, and don't those things smell horrible? Whenever I open the container I can't help but get a whiff (not meaning to of course) Try to swallow them fast because they're so chalk-like!

Re: Metformin Ladies
I have had zero issues or symptoms from the Met and I am on 1500mg/day. Take it after a meal, I think that helps. If you need to increase your dosage you just go slow. I started on 500mg/day for about 3 days, then 1000mg/day for 2-3 days and then I went to 1500mg. I really never had any stomach issues or problems with it.
EDT - First time on Met I ovulated on my own after 3 months. No Clomid. Got pregnant with my DD. Now I am TTC #2 and I've been back on my Met, Provera for AF, and Clomid for ovulation. Hoping for another IUI in about a week or so and then with any luck a BFP!

Re: Metformin Ladies
I'm on 750mg and have had stomach issues with it. This is going to be TMI, but I get nauseous sometimes, gassy, and it makes me...more regular. It suppresses my appetite and I also can't eat some things without it upsetting my stomach. I couldn't eat bagels for a few weeks and I still can't eat pizza. I take it right after dinner, which helps. The side effects dwindle after a few weeks, but I still experience some.

Re: Metformin Ladies
Thanks everyone! I am on 750mg. So far I've only had some very mild stomach issues, mainly just a little nausea, nothing I can't handle.
