My story and a question...
So here's my story. I have a DS who is a little over two years old. I got pg with DS#2 in January and two weeks ago did not feel him moving. Went to the dr thinking he just changed positions and I heard the worst words of my life that there was no heartbeat. I delivered him via c-section (since I had one with DS#1). He was born at 24 weeks at a whopping 1 lb 14 oz. He looked perfect. His burial was last week and I have been there three times since. I really don't think the pain will ever go away.
Fast forward to today at my 2 week pp check-up, and it turns out I have two copies of MTHFR which they believe is why he passed. My question is, does anyone know if I have to take folic acid everyday? I have to go meet with a specialist next week to go over everything. But my dr said I will have to take folic acid next pg and give my self heparin shots. Does this sound right?
I thank you if you got this far and I am very sorry that we are all on this board.

Re: My story and a question...
I am so very sorry for your loss!! I can only imagine what you have been through.
You and your family with be in my thoughts and prayers!
I have two copied of MTHFR too. I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and must take Lovenox Injections and Metanx through the entire pregnancy. They usually recommend Lovenox and then switch you to Heparin the last month. You will most likely start taking the Folic Acid which they recommend as you start to TTC again and through out pregnancy ( metanx or Folgard) They are very high doses of FOLIC ACID and B6.
Feel free to ask me any questions, or FM me if you'd like...If I can help in anyway.
I am sorry for your loss!

Re: My story and a question...
I am so sorry for your loss. I had a similar experience last year...we lost our baby at 23 weeks and shortly after I was also diagnosed with 2 copies of MTHFR. I am currently 23 weeks pregnant and so scared. For the MTHFR, I am on baby aspirin, Folgard (high dose of folic acid and other vitamin B's), and Lovenox. At 36 weeks, I will be switched to Heparin. I am seeing my regular OB as well as Dr. Goldstein at Madonna in Brightwaters. They are monitoring me very closely, which I am thankful for. Good luck to you, and again, I am so sorry you are going through this.

Re: My story and a question...
I am so sorry for your loss....I am also homozygous for MTHFR - I have never, thankfully, had a loss though
While I was pregnant with my 2 children, I was on Lovenox and folic acid and had no complications
