Central Air Costs
Hello all,
Just curious, if you had central air installed, was it actually cheaper to install during the winter or summer? I have heard that that is a myth but want some feedback.
Thanks.

Re: Central Air Costs
when my parents did it 3 years ago it was cheaper to do it in the winter then wait to the spring...they quickly bit the bullet and did it around christmas time before they went away for the winter to save some $$$

Re: Central Air Costs
sometime you do get winter specials, but on average about 3,000 per ton.
Capes and Ranches run around 6,000
small to med. Splits, 8,000
Colonials 10,000 and up
Usually goes by square footage buy you also have to add for directional sunlight.
Last year my unit cost 9,600 less 400 lipa rebate, less 1,000 lenox rebate, and 1,500.00 energy credit.
We have a colonial around 2,500 sqft. But use some existing venting we had from the older CA unit.
Good Luck Arthur
