Questions about newborn must-haves....

I'm going through my registry to see what items are left that we need for when the baby comes and I realized that I still have some questions about what's best for baby.... I want to be as practical as possible and not end up buying a bunch of items I will not need or use.

* Which do we need: a cool mist or warm mist humidifier? (or both?)

* How many waterproof crib pads do we need?

* What's more practical for burping & messy newborns: burpcloths, waterproof pads or cloth diapers? How many of each?

* What's a good number of onesies (size 0-3 months) to have on hand during the first few weeks?

* Are baby hangers really necessary or will I be able to get by using dresser drawers and with the plastic hangers that come with the clothes?

Def get cloth diapers for burbies they are the best 6-12.
5-10 onzies get the carter brand Gerber shrink horribly..my DS didn't even get to wear his 0-3 gerbers they never fit him after I washed them.
I would def get the hangers I had about 4 packs from my shower and I went and got more!

* How many waterproof crib pads do we need? We have 2, so you have one to use while one is in the wash.

* What's more practical for burping & messy newborns: burpcloths, waterproof pads or cloth diapers? How many of each? We just use bibs and burp cloths, but our DS is not a spitter at all so we just use them to wipe his mouth, this will depend on the baby.

* What's a good number of onesies (size 0-3 months) to have on hand during the first few weeks? I would make sure you have some NB onsies along with the 0-3 onsies. DS was 8lbs. 8ozs. and 0-3 is still huge on him after 2 weeks, he's fitting perfectly in NB sizes though. I would say a dozen NB onsies and then probably double that in 0-3, IMO.

* Are baby hangers really necessary or will I be able to get by using dresser drawers and with the plastic hangers that come with the clothes? I'm a neat freak and I use baby hangers. We hang a lot of DS's clothes and put the rest in the dresser and I can't stand having different types of hangers in the closet so I registered for a ton of baby hangers and people put them in the wishing well at the shower so we didn't have to actually buy any.
