So annoyed at DH - yes, this is pet related!
Some of you may remember my post a couple of weeks ago about Hailey's injury - she stepped on a rake (that was left in the back yard by DH) and got a hole in the webbing of her toe. Well, it turns out it wasn't just the webbing. The metal rake spoke went into her webbing and up inside her toe.
So, needless to say, this has cost us a little bit of money. DH brought her to the vet again yesterday for another recheck and it's still not healed. The wounds were in a very bad spot. It's definatley better but not perfect. So, she needed another antibiotic shot - $120.
So, DH is ******** and complaining about all of this and I'm sick and tired of it. i just need to vent. He left the rake out and yes, it was an accident but it happened and you take care of it. End of story. He is usually the devoted dog owner except for when it comes to money. I know everyone here will back me up. My animals are my family and I will spare no expense to keep them healthy. My MIL never took her dogs to the vet. NEVER! And DH doesn't think it's necessary either. So, what? She should loose her leg or her life??? I just hate when he gets like this. You have pets, accidents happen. Insurance wouldn't cover this so we pay out of pocket. It's part of being an animal owner!
My friend suggested I beat him with the rake. He has insurance so it wouldn't cost us anything. Oh, except for me going to jail and then no one to take care of the pets so, maybe I won't do it.

Maybe leave the rake at the foot of the bed .. on the side he gets up on in the morning....oops
I kid I kid
But I understand. I would spare no expense as well to take care of our dog. Tell your DH too bad & get over it.

Gotta back you on this.
It's very ignorant of him to not want to pay to keep his dog safe and healthy. I feel badly for you that he is giving you a hard time when it is clear the dog needs medical attention.
Stand your ground and make sure the dog gets what it needs. Our pets need us to care for them.

Of course, I'm on your side. I know someone who is like that about their dog, sarcastic and complaining about things the dog does that are a direct result of their laziness and lack of training.
I'm at a point now where the next time I hear it (it's a lot, every time I talk about my dogs) that I'm going to tell them to just STOP and I DON'T want to hear it anymore. After it goes on for so long, I think people just need to be told, in no uncertain terms, that it's time to just shut their friggin pie hole.
I'm glad your dog has you on their side, and I hope he heals soon! Poor guy.
