Food for baby shower?
What kind of food was (or will be) served at your shower? We are having it at someones house and we were thinking finger foods would be best.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Re: Food for baby shower?
I had a Brunch at a Restaurant.
I think it depends on time of day and how many hours the party will be.

Re: Food for baby shower?
I had my baby shower at my mom's house and it was catered by the Italian restaurant my parents go to.

Re: Food for baby shower?
Mine will be a brunch at a restaurant, but if it was going to be at my mom's house, I think she would've catered italian.
I hosted a 60th bday ladies luncheon for my mom last year at my house for 30 women and wanted to cook the food rather than cater. To keep it simple, yet ensure everyone was well fed, I put out pickings for when everyone was arriving. Then for the main lunch, I made 3 quiches, a tortellini salad, a nice green salad, and served a baked ham. I figured ham was easy since it's pre-cooked in the store and you just need to put a glaze on it and heat it up.

if you are making finger foods yourselves, i would do mini chicken salad sandwiches on cresant rolls, maybe a fruit cheese and cracker table, mini quiches, a tray of baked mac n cheese maybe?
eta to add more ideas: mini sandwiches with turkey, swiss and cranberry chutney mini quiches chicken teriyaki on skewers shrimp cocktail poached salmon with dill sauce spanakopita potato/cheese croquettes vegetable lasagne "baby" vegetables with dip mini cupcakes

Re: Food for baby shower?
Mine was at my mom's house and it was brunch (and for only 20 people) so we had:
bagels muffins fruit salad wrap sandwiches homemade quiche
Then for dessert we had cupcakes and store-bought Italian cookies.
