I didn't want my girls to look like me. I know I'm not the best looking thing on the planet. I wouldn't say I was worried about it, but I didn't know what to expect.
And not to be obnoxious, but I think I have 2 of the most gorgeous girls on the planet.

YES I worry about this and feel so bad about it and have not spoken to anyone about it! My DH is handsome and I'm not bad...and I never thought about my poor child.
When I saw the 4D sonogram pic it looked like the baby had my DH nose and I'm not thrilled about it. Now that I think the baby has his nose I am hoping more for boy...I'm such a loser.

I do worry about this! we're both pretty attractive but I can see how our features may not mix well together. my big nose with his big ears and teeth and my acne? The poor child will be doomed!

I totally worry about this... and mom told me I was an ugly baby  then she tries to cover it up and say well.... "you were a very sick baby"!
do you think the people who have the not so cute babies, think their babies are still cute? I feel like as a parent, maybe you would be in denial and not notice it.

Crashing as well
Absolutely worried. I did not have an attractive baby...one was born with red marks on its face because they were born so quickly (what the nurse referred to as 'road rash'), had the swollen face from birth, big ears...but they do grow into their looks.
But then you start to look at the baby & love their little lips, or their eyes that remind you of DH or even are happy that they have some piece of you even if you despised that part of yourself - and you hope that they like their shared traits better than you did yours.
Not all babies are pretty ones but they all have something cute about them....

LOL yes, i think people are afraid of that... am i afraid? no... i tend to look past children's looks... Im more concerned with their personality/demeanor KWIM? You can have the most beautiful kid, but if they are a terror, they just end up looking ugly in that way... if that makes sense!

Haha...we have the same discussion but my DH also yells at me for commenting when I see an ugly kid. He says I'm jinxing us. LOL I just hope our kid doesn't have my nose.

DH's cousin was apparently an ugly baby. It has been brought up many times about how ugly she was when she was a baby, even in front of her. 
ETS: When my friend had her daughter, the first thing out of her mouth to her ex DH was "Is she ugly?"

My first was truly the ugliest baby on earth... we knew it then, and laugh even harder now when we look back on baby pics

Oh man I literally laughed out loud
DH and I think about this all the time!!!!! I think what scares me the most is - what IF we have an ugly kid and then we can't even tell that the kid is ugly????

I have to crash because I was reading this thinking "omg this is me". I was always too terrified to ask this on the pregnancy boards, but I'm terrified of having an ugly baby. Everyone thinks I'm nuts for even thinking this but I can't help it. I think I would be really upset if I had an ugly baby. No doubt health is most important and I always worry about having a healthy baby, but I do fear having an ugly child as well.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one that worries about this though. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for even thinking about it and I always feel kind of selfish saying so. But honestly who could not be disappointed with an ugly baby.

i can say with 100% certainty that I never ever once worried or even thought about this. All I worried about is that they would be healthy. Honestly, it never crossed my mind to be "worried" about their appearance.
