fertility meds?
hey sorry to crash but my doctor wants me to try a fertility treatment. I don't know why but I am a little nervous about it. He has mentioned femara, injections, metformin and clomid over the phone but we meet monday to go over what i will be doing. just wondering if anyone has tried any of these treatments. even though i'll do whatever he says, i'm curious.

Re: fertility meds?
Most people usually start out by taking Clomid. I did not respond well to it, so I moved on to Gonal-F injections and got my BFP after my 1st cycle. Everyone responds to meds differently, so what didn't work for one person, will work wonders for the next. I would go with whatever your doctor recommends at your appointment.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Re: fertility meds?
I took Clomid 100mg for cd3-7 and got my BFP on my first round. I would also go with what your Dr reccomends he/she knows what they are doing. Good luck

Re: fertility meds?
Not sure if you are under the care of an OB or an RE, but I highly reccomend seeing an RE for any of the above if you are not already...
I was w/ an OB who had me on Clomid and timed BD and wasted 7 precious months before finally seeking out an RE..I was completely improperly monitored while on it and was never given the proper preliminary testing to check that my tubes were clear and that my DH had a good SA....After my 3rd Clomid/IUI cycle I conceived my DS and have since conceived 2 more times under the care of an RE ( IVF & FET)
Clomid is only recomended to be used for a set # of cycles because it can thin out the uterine lining and also can have a drying effect on your CM (which is ultimately why timed BD did not work for us and we needed the help of an IUI)
Sorry for the ramble if you are already under an RE's care but its something I feel very strongly about and wish someone had given the knowledge to me at the time...
Good Luck to you !!!!
ETA- You may want to post this on the Infertility board as well

Re: fertility meds?
With this pregnancy I used 100 mg of clomid with an ovidrel trigger and got pregnant the first cycle.
With my twins, it was 150mg clomid, ovidrel trigger. It was my 6th cycle on clomid, 2nd IUI. I had a miscarriage the cycle before them.
please be sure you are seeing an RE who will properly monitor you before starting any fertility meds. Good luck!

Re: fertility meds?
my reg ob wanted me to start on clomid. I knew I needed to do something but I felt more comfortable going to a RE. I knew I would be monitored better there. I wound up getting pregnant after 2 cycles taking femara and follistim (an injectable)
good luck
