Moms of older multiples...did you or do you let them fight it out??

The twins are 16 months now and their personalities are really coming out.

They have been fighting like crazy over toys and I don't know what to do. Example....Gia has a toy. Nicolas wants it. He comes and takes it. Gia cries hysterically and starts playing with a different toy. Nicolas plays with the first toy for 10 seconds and drops it on the floor and then wants the new toy Gia is playing with. This goes on and on. Anything Gia has, Nicolas wants. If I take the toy away from Nicolas and give it back to Gia, now I have 2 crying babies.

Should I just let them deal with it on their own? The problem is, Gia will sometimes come running to me and climb on me and try to hide the toy so Nicolas can't get it. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thats is my house exactly every day!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Leah picks up a toy, Michael takes it. Leah picks up a new toy, Michael drops first toy goes fro what she has. Repeat....over and over!!!
I have started to let them figure it out on their own. I would love to hear what others do too!

my girls are 8 mos old and this is already going on in my house, thankfully the one having the toy taken away is pretty easy going and just moves on to another toy,
but if she cries, i sometimes give the toy back to the one that had it first and tell my other dd no and hand her a different toy
sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt

My house everyday as well...except add in Sydney pulling her hand into a fist and swinging wildly at Chloe while Chloe grabs and BITES on any exposed part of Sydneys Body. Try breaking THAT up I tell ya!

But for the most part, I let them go at it ...for ex. They had a kicking fight tonight for at least 4-5 minutes, just kicking each others feet while screaming. LOL ...

When the biting/hitting starts, I try to step in and pacify one of them somehow.

Mine are 2. They mostly work it out, but if it gets heated, I'll step in.
I also step in if one of them takes a toy from the other. I tell them to give it back, that its not nice to take things from other people without asking.
I also tell them about sharing if they are fighting. They are pretty good about it.
