False Labor-anyone have any experience?
Last night I had irregular contractions for about 7 hours
I'm hoping when I go to the dr tomorrow there will be more progress since Ive been 1cm and long and closed for the last 2 weeks.
Anyone at the end experiencing this?

Re: False Labor-anyone have any experience?
Yes! Last week I was having regular contractions from 3:30 am on. I called the dr at 9 when they opened and they had me come in. They hooked me up to the fetal monitor and told me I'd be having my baby within the next 12 hours!!!! So they sent me home to labor and said to check in a few hours later. I was 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced
I went home to rest and was able to and the contractions calmed down. We went back to the dr around 3 and they hooked me up again and the contractions were still there but not as regular. Dilated to 3cm now. They still said I was in active labor.
We went home again to eat ( because if I went to the hospital I couldn't do that). At around 7pm I was anxious so we went to hospital. I was admitted and checked and was now almost fully effaced but still 3cm.
Flash forward a few hours...... Contractions stopped COMPLETELY!
They sent me home the next morning because it turned out to be false labor

Re: False Labor-anyone have any experience?
I did ! When I was 37 wks , i had contractions from 10am - 3pm and then I ended up going to the hospital around 8pm. They send me home because it was too irregular and it wasn't close enough to be admitted. Send me home around 12am and then I ended up back in the hospital around 6am and I was 4 cm dilated.

Re: False Labor-anyone have any experience?
I had BH contractions really bad a few weeks ago. They were every 8-10 minutes for 4 hours, and felt like the most painful AF cramps I've ever had in my life. I called the Dr's office and he told me to drink a ton of water and call back if they went down to 2-5 minute intervals.
And that was when I decided that I'm going to seriously consider an epi when I go into real labor.

Yes, I have but it was a few weeks ago. I thought it was it, I really did. I had such bad pains but it turned out it was a combination of not being hydrated and a bad stomach.

Re: False Labor-anyone have any experience?
ugh glad I'm not the only one.
I was telling DH that I don't mind having contractions if its gonna be for a reason, like pushing out a baby, helping me dilate or soften my cervix but random contractions for hours stinks!!

Re: False Labor-anyone have any experience?

Re: False Labor-anyone have any experience?
I have been having irregular contractions all the time for weeks now - have contractions all day sporadically sometimes they go one for a couple hours closer together and sometimes all over the map -most aren't too painful - unlss I am sitting and try to get up and not realizing I am contracting. At 36 weeks, I was having contractions prety much 5 mins apart (sometimes 10) from like noon til I went to bed, some even making me winded, uncomfortable but not painful. I went to the dr that day but nothing - had NST and dr saw 3 strong contractions in that 20 minutes but told me to wait and see - I was only 1cm and still a little high. The next week I was 3cm and low and soft but and dr wasn't sure I was going to make it another week - but here I am a week later. This week's appt I am still 38 weeks and 3 cm, baby's head is very low....dr thinks it could all be my early stages of labor this time and could posibly go straight to active labor when baby decides to makes it move. 38 weeks today...

Re: False Labor-anyone have any experience?
yes - and it's so annoying because you've obviously never done it before, so you have no way of knowing if it's the real thing or not!
I ended up in L&D twice with my 1st DS - once at 35 weeks, and again at 37w4d (DS was born @ 38w). I was having contractions 5 min apart for 2+ hrs and was already told that i was about 3 cm dilated at my dr appt that week, so i really thought it was baby time! butttt after 6 hrs in L&D, i was sent home.
thank God my water broke, because i swore off going to the hospital for contractions again unless I saw a head!
hang in there!
