Subchorionic hematoma?
I woke up in the middle of the night last night to some bleeding. Had a sono today and she told me I have a subchorionic hematoma in my uterus. Has anyone had this? How long did it take to go away? I wasn't able to meet with my doctor today, just the sonographer and a nurse. I'll meet with my ob in 3 weeks for my 2 week appt. They just told me no heavy lifting and to take it easy. Just looking for someone with experience

I don't have it personally... but I've def read about it a few times on here so there are a good amt of girls who have had experience with this.
i'm sure they will come out and post soon.

Re: Subchorionic hematoma?
If you go to related posts at the bottom you will see quite a few threads on them....
I had one with DD and also with my current ..Had no idea how common they are!
Had a few very scary bleeding episodes that sent me to the ER...In addition to the no lifting, I was also put on pelvic rest both times....
Some people's bodies reabsorb the bleed and others bleed it out (as mine did)...I can't recall exactly how long either lasted but it was a good few weeks for both...
My DD was born very healthy and I am almost 37 weeks along this time

Re: Subchorionic hematoma?
I had bleeding and spotting early on. The dr. suspected THAT along with a cycst and an empty second sac to be the cause. It couldn't be pinpointed b/c there were 3 possible causes. Anyway, we got through it and at later sonos, it was not seen on the screen.
Good luck! It is so scary! But more common than we realize.

Re: Subchorionic hematoma?
I was diagnosed with this at 12 1/2 weeks after a night of bleeding. I was put of bed rest and then went for weekly sonos to see how it was doing. Luckily it was low and they said I should have it rectify itself or bleed it out by 20 weeks. I still have it at 6 months pregnant but has gotten very small and is still low. I just lived by this and still do: don't lift anything heavy-not grocery bags, laundry, etc. put my feet up as often as I can when I am home. I was also told that I can't have intercourse due to this blood clot and I also have a marginal previa.
Best of luck!

Re: Subchorionic hematoma?
I had one with DD and bled like crazy for a few days at 6 weeks. It was completely gone by around 12-14 weeks. Don't remember which one.

Re: Subchorionic hematoma?
Thank you ladies! The more I've researched the more common they seem! I had never even heard of it!
