What do I do to help with cradle cap (I think that's what it called -- nb dandruff)? (pic)
DD is just over 10 weeks and her head is SHEDDING big time! I read somewhere to try using oil when we bathe her but it seems like a really temporary solution. Should I be trying to moisturize this to help it? Using the really soft brush to gently exfoliate? Or just leave it alone and know eventually it'll all regenerate into beautiful dandruff-less head?
Any advice / suggestions welcome!
Oh, and she rolled over from tummy to back today!! Apparently DH had her on her tummy for about 25 minutes (I never go that long in a row) and she finally got so frustrated she stuck her butt way up in the air, kicked her leg, and got on her side, then rolled to her back lol. Can't wait for her to repeat that one in front of me.

DD has it too. our ped said to get Sebulex dandruff shampoo. you have to ask the pharmacist for it even though it's otc.
we used it for the 1st time yesterday and it got the scaly stuff off her forehead, but now i can't get the sluffed off skin off! oy! we bathe her again tomorrow, so we'll see what happens then.
the bottle says it takes a few times to work. ped said to use 2x per week.

Mineral oil and a very fine comb. It will eventually go away.

my dr told me to take a q tip and dip it in olive oil and rub it on her scalp leave it for like five min then wash as usual. it helps but still doesnt make it go away fully. ive tried baby oil too the olive oil works better jmo.

For DD I used the Mustela Foam Shampoo for newborns which washes away flakes associated with cradle cap and thank goodness she never gets cradle cap.
For DS who will be 4 weeks old on Wednesday coming I am using the same Mustela Foam Shampoo and so far no cradle cap at all.

Our ped. recommended CAREFULLY using Head & Shoulders every few washes to keep the flakes at bay. It worked really, really well...you just have to be super, super careful when rinsing not to let it come into contact w/ their eyes.

I used olive oil and massaged it in during bath time. Then I used a comb and brushed it out as best I could.

I used baby oil and soft infant toothbrush to massage away scales then washed. It helped some but after a week it was back and Dr. reccomended head and shoulders twice a week ( wash very very carefully) I did that twice in one week and it was gone for good.

Wow I never would've thought of using head & shoulders on a little baby! I'm going to keep using the baby oil for now during baths and trying to gently brush it out and ask the ped at our 4 month appointment before I use any non-baby product. Thank you so much everyone!

I have tried everything: baby oil, olive oil, auqaphor. The thing that works the best is must A stelikar cream. Great stuff!

Mustula newborn foam shampoo. It gets the flakes out and leaves their hair really soft. I found baby oil worked too but was impossible to get out and made ds hair so greasy.
