Yesterday we found a tick on our dog - it was very slightly engorged. He just had a Frontline Plus treatment last week. I thought this stuff was supposed to prevent this from happening?

Well I know it's supposed to slowly kill them, within 24-48 hrs so they can still get engorged I believe.
I found a tick on my DD the other day. This stinks that they are out already!

found one on my pup too recently. We spoke with the vet and she suggested getting a tick collar too

This is my understanding also. Frontline is a pesticide that is absorbed into their bloodstream and provides protection from the inside out.
We use Bug Off Garlic and it works a little differently - as a repellent for all pests including flies and mosquitos. In the 2+ years we've had our dogs on it, we've never found a tick and we're in the woods and at the beach all the time.
I wouldn't double up on 2 kinds of pesticides, that really doesn't sound safe.
