bedtime bottle questions
How soon before bed do you give your infant their last bottle?
I think I need to give dd hers a lil earlier so she has more time to digest but I am nervous she will get hungrier earlier and stop sttn
She now gets a bottle around 7:30pm. Gets a few burps, spits up usually and then its right to bed. Should I be giving her more time inbetween? Or is this how most night time feedings go?
Could you also share what time is their last bottle How many ounces How old are they Bed time?
Thanks so much

Re: bedtime bottle questions
DD is 10 months and for at least the last 5-6 months it's been: a bottle at about 7pm, a few minutes of rocking to get any bubbles out, then right into crib. Right now she gets a 6 ounce bottle at bedtime.
I think once more teeth come in the ped will tell us to stop this routine b/c we'll need to brush her teeth before putting her in the crib. But with only one tooth now I'm not worried.
ETS: I only stopped nursing a month ago but it was still the same routine, just BFing instead of a bottle

Re: bedtime bottle questions
My DD is 6 months, her last bottle is at 9 and it's usually 5 oz. Her bedtime, I'm sad to say is 9:30...but it works for me and DH since we both work and we get to spend more time with her at night.
My doctor told me to cut out night feedings at 3 or 4 months and she's been sleeping pretty well since...except for the teething.

Re: bedtime bottle questions
Anthony falls asleep while being BF, burps a couple of times and I put him in his crib right away.
I'd say if she doesn't wake herself up with a burp, then there's no need to change her schedule.
How many ounces - BF but i'd say 6ish
How old are they - 4 Months
Bed time? - Between 7-8... he pretty much 'tells' me when he's ready

Re: bedtime bottle questions
my DD is 3 months and right now we dont start her bedtime routine till 10 or later. (we want to try to get her to go down earlier but we are nervous she wont sleep through the night then) She will get a bath most of the time then her last bottle which i fill up to 6 oz and she drinks any where from 3-6 ounces. She falls asleep drinking it. We try to burp her if she burps she burps if not then we just put her to bed. I also though always give her gas drops before her last bottle.

Re: bedtime bottle questions
DD gets her last bottle at 9/9:30, depending on her feeding scheduele that day. She takes between 7 and 8 1/2 ounces at htat feeding. Lately she hasn't been burping, but I try for a few minutes and always hold her upright as she falls alseep for a good 15-20 minutes whether she burps or not. HTH

Re: bedtime bottle questions
DS used to fall asleep at the bottle, and since 4m we decided to give it to him in bed propped by a pillow. He was always taking 6-8oz. He slept so well, we never changed it.
When he stopped falling asleep at the bottle, we'd give it to him 20 minutes before his bath, then give him a bath, then stories, singing, and night night about 30 minutes later. He still sleeps 11 hours on average.
