concerned about my 2year old
I have a question about my son's developement. He's two years old and yesterday we went to a communion in a hall. The minute we went into the restaurant he began saying"go home." when we walked into the party he became more and more upset. There was also a dj and as soon as the music went on he started to scream and cry. I took him outside and spoke to him. He started to calm and said he wanted to go back inside. We went inside and he was ok. We ate dinner and the music was on and low. He had no issues. Then the Dj started to talk again and the music got louder and Nate started crying again. We would up leaving early. If this was an isolated event i would not think twice, but anytime we go to places with music or loud noise he gets upset. He also gets upset if the sun's too bright and has difficulty with lots of food because of the texture. He has always had a difficult time with transitions and I'm starting to wonder if his behavior is more than just normal developmental change. His other developement seems appropriate. He is able to speak in 3 and 4 word sentences, started walking within range, can climb the stairs ,etc. So my question is this normal two year old development or something I should be concerned about? My BIL is autistic so I am always concerned my son will develop some form of autism. Thank you.

Re: concerned about my 2year old
Im a teacher and not a specialist but to me it sounds more like sensory issues then autism.. I def would talk to your ped. You know your son best and if you feel like something isn't right def get it checked

Re: concerned about my 2year old
My son is 5 and he doesn't like loud noises, I suspect he is a bit extra-sensory (if you will) but the more I think about it, my husband doesn't like loud noises much. If you are concerned speak to EI
