Question about being rehired and benefits.
If you get fired for theft but then get reinstated because the manager felt it was not intentional do you just start working like nothing happened. Like, do you continue to get insurance and any other benefits you had prior to getting fired or do you start working as if you are starting all over again?

Re: Question about being rehired and benefits.
I believe you wld have to look into your employer's rehire policy. My former employer allows you to maintain your seniority if you return within 12 mnths of your termination date & insurance benefits pick up right way, no probation period.
Were you wrongly fired? That's a different situation.

I would assume if it was a reinstatement, you would get the same benefits, seniority, etc unless there was an extended period of time.
Best to confirm with the employer as it's whatever that particular company policy states.

Technically DH was right in being fired. He walked out with property of the store but it was clearly unintentional. He has an appt. to meet with the boss on Friday to see if he can get his job back.

Re: Question about being rehired and benefits.
each employer will have a different policy regarding this.
I believe my last employer's rule was if under 6 months you get your seniority back, if over you lose it. but it's also all negotiable.
