Would this bother you? (Name related Poll)
There is a name I really really like for DD#2 arriving soon - but when I told DH he said that he has an ex-girlfriend with that name - but it doesn't bother him and he really likes the name too so we could use it. He just told because he thought I should know. He said he dated her for about 6 months - (we've been dating/married for more than 10 years at this point so it was a very long time ago that he dated her)
Would you still want to use the name?

If she was still in contact with him (like 1 of my exes is always at a certain mutual friend's parties..so I see him at least 1x a year) I wouldn't use it.. otherwise I totally would.

I would absolutely use it.
Nicholas was on the top of our boys name list and it's the name of 2 of my very serious ex bfs. DH couldn't care less lol

Personally, I wouldn't because I feel like it will always evoke the memory of someone else but I have a bad taste about one of DH's exes. If neither of you cares and you love the name, then go for it. You two are all who matter!

My personal preference is to avoid names of exes if at all possible. I'd probably not use it.

For me it would depend on how long they dated. My DH was with a girl for 10 years on and off in his younger days, so no I wouldn't use her name, but if it was a relationship that was maybe 1-2 years I wouldn't have a problem

I agree. Its funny because DH though of 3 boy names and they were all 3 of my ex's! haha, I told him heck no!

I think it depends on how common/uncommon the name is.
DH has a very common name - I dated 2 before him. We used his first name as #1's middle name.
If it was uncommon - i think you have to think about it more.

We almost named DS the same name as one of my exes. I was with him off and on for years but we both really loved the name so we didn't care.
