Yes. I have three big dogs that really don't like the heat and I want them to be comfy. :)

Re: Do you leave the AC on for your pets?

I am home all day and let me tell you the animals don't give a crap about the AC. We don't have central air, only wall/window units. If i have the AC on downstairs, all the animals are upstairs. The dog and sometimes the cats go all the way upstairs to the hottest part of the house. It'll be nice and cool downstairs and they are all hanging out in the heat, laying around like lumps because its so hot. What is the deal with that? I bring them downstairs and they just go right back upstairs.
So if I wasn't home, I would not waste my money by leaving the AC on. I'd leave on the ceiling fans and plenty of water, but no AC.
Just my two cents.

Of course! I have a senior dog that has a hard time in the heat but even when she wa younger I'd turn the temp up to 75.

Yes always. I feel bad if they had to sit around in this heat. I even set it for 72 for them!!!

Here is my Belle hanging out OUTSIDE of the AC rooms. The girl just doesn't seem to like it and is quite happy in the heat. She is striking her new favorite pose when I take the camera out.

Yes, especially on the hot days! I usually set it on the timer when I leave. I have a small place, so I will just keep one ac one when I leave the house. I also put ice in my cats water bowl.

I put it on energy save - 72 in my bed room and 76 for the rest of the house.

On crazy hot days like we have this past week I leave the bedroom AC on set to 80 with energy saver and an oscillating fan. It gets way too hot in here when the ac is off for that many hours. When the weather is more normal, I just leave the fans on.

We leave the AC on for him. It gets so hot, if I were home along I would have it on so why not for my furbaby, afterall he is covered in fur!!! Chat Icon
